I had "connection" as my ring on my cell phone. I thought it seemed appropriate for that function, but as a ring, that song is annoying. I now have "Congradultions" as my ring. its a good mellow song. Does anyone else have a stones song as their ring?
ROCKMAN, I think your in Austrailia, is that right? here in the states if you get thrown in the slammer, your allowed one phone call. I dont know what its like elswhere.
I have Cant You Hear Me Knockin as my ringtone. I uploaded the whole song to my phone but no one ever gets past the first verse. You can download apps for your phone so that you can upload your own songs to your phone instead of paying $4.99 or whatever for a ringtone.
I have Sway and Black Limousine downloaded...one time it was Sway and a friend asked if it was the music from a video game (its a pretty crappy phone, just midi recordings)...::sigh:: So do you guys have real audio Stones ring tones or just the midi stuff?
I stopped buying ringtones after I downloaded Start Me Up on my first phone and it ended up being the chorus and not the opening riffs. Now I just rip an mp3 and dump it to my phone. Depending on the phone you have you can just get an application for your PC to do this.
I have a Mac and a Motorola SLVR phone thta can play mp3's. What I do I take songs from my iTunes library, edit them with an MP3 editor and then upload them through Bluetooth to my phone. Don't have many Stones ringtones, actually I hate ringtones, always on vibrating mode. Anyway, I got Can't you hear me knocking.
I downloaded Start Me Up at the T-Mobile website, but I also got the chorus in stead of the opening riffs. Probably the same as Drake had. Then I downloaded Cocaïne (Clapton, it said...) but it seemed to be some kind of very week cover. And also not the opening but only: 'I tell you: cocaïne tralalalala'

My P 900 has "Satisfaction" as a general tone "Oh no not you again" for my boss. "Start me up" for my kids. "Gimmie shelter" for some of my friends. "Live with me" when my wife calls me. "@#$%& blues" for hidden numbers. At Cristmas eve, birthday etc, I have Congratulation for all calls. When Zeppelin fans calls me "Whole lotta love" Beatles fans "In my life". It`s up to your fantasy and what kind of cell phone you got.
i havee about a dozen Stones songs - different ones for different callers, but I almost never have it off of vibrate these days, so I actually have to listen to the Stones albums to hear these songs. bummer.....
The problem with your favorite Stones song as ring tone is, you have to tell your friends to let it ring for at least 4 minutes before you answer the call.
What you want of course, is a very VERY LOUD opening riff of Start Me Up or Satisfaction or Brown Sugar.
But in the end both the cellphone and the composer of the tune are nitwits who don't understand this, which means that
a) They do not start the tone with the opening riff but the chorus, or b) The tune starts off very quiet not to disturb people, and to give you the chance to answer before anyone notices... Well very nice, but not in this case. Or c) They add some drum or another counting-in before the riff, or d) They completely misinterprete the song and turn the openging riff as well as the rest into something rather unrecognisable.
Therefore I turned those companies down and re-installed my cow, which annoys people nicely.
I too had Can You Hear Me Knocking as a ring tone for ages. Then I lost the cell phone and decided to change when I got my new one. Now I have You Gotta Move. Verizon in California offers tons of choices. Sarah
Had Dylan's Hurricane for a few months but as stated never rang long enough to properly enjoy it! Now I have 19th NVS Brkdwn and it starts with the chorus "Hear Comes Your 19th NB, oh whose to blame, ect...will stick with this one for awhile!!
ryanpow, mailed your discs yesterday. Let me know when you get 'em. I think the last song on Disc 2 is messed up - "Another Man's Woman". It is on my copy.

I've been meaning to figure out how to do this but, in the immortal words of Homer Simpson, I'm a lazy, lazy man. I have a Nextel i730 - any help you can direct me to would be most appreciated.
