Just saw an article in a local paper called EXPRESS that
Guns & Roses are to open for the Stones in Köln, sunday 23rd July and
that more than 90 % of the tix for Köln are already sold.

CuinCologne then..my only left gig so far out of four...

I found nothing in EXPRESS from today (Samstag, 03.06.2006, Düsseldorf Ausgabe).
Maybe I`m blind.

go to Express köln..you find it in the local news...
it says something like:

keith Ricards wird am 23 July in Köln so richtig abrocken...und als Vorgruppe heizen sogar die Rocker von G&R dem Publikum ein...

By the way...the info of 90 % tix sold for Cologne comes from Kölner Stadt Anzeiger in the Panorama news.

Nürburg – Der erste Tag des Megafestivals „Rock am Ring“ ging klatschnass los: Rund um die Rennstrecke goss es morgens in Strömen. „Wir mussten mit unserem Zelt »Land unter« melden“, erzählen Simon (21), Rasmus (20) und Jens (19) – die extra aus Kolding (Dänemark) angereist sind.

Im Matsch halten sie es aus, weil sie unbedingt Guns N’ Roses, Metallica und „Korn“ sehen wollen. Mit zig Dosen Bier und einer leibhaftigen Luftgitarre stimmen sie sich vor ihrem Zelt darauf ein.

Währenddessen heizten Bands wie Stone Sour, Alice in Chains den Rockfans ein – das war auch nötig, denn besonders warm war es nicht. 80.000 Musikbegeisterte sind dieses Jahr gekommen. „Das ist das geilste Festival der Welt“, schwärmt Marieke (22), die mit 14 zum ersten Mal da war.

Große Enttäuschung über Skandal-Rocker Pete Doherty: Sein für 16.05 Uhr angekündigter Auftritt wurde abgesagt. Über die Gründe konnte nur spekuliert werden. Wahrscheinlich war seine Festnahme nach einem Flug nach Barcelona der Grund. Doherty soll auf der Toilette gefixt haben, Stewardessen fanden Drogenspritzen und riefen die Polizei.

Aber Gott sei Dank holte er seinen Gig am Samstagmorgen auf der Clubbühnen des Festivals nach.

Am Samstag spielen u. a. Metallica, Reamonn und die Bloodhound Gang. Morgen kommen noch Depeche Mode, Placebo, Franz Ferdinand und – als besonderes Schmankerl – Schauspielerin Juliette Lewis („Natural Born Killers“) mit ihrer Band The Licks.

Und auch nach dem Rock am Nürburgring gibt es jede Menge großartige Konzerte. Schon Montag steht USRapper 50 Cent (5. Juni) auf der Museumsmeile in Bonn auf der Bühne. Am 15. Juni treten dort dann Deep Purple mit Alice Cooper auf.

Am 11. Juli ist James Blunt im Tanzbrunnen, für Nostalgiker gibt’s am selben Tag The Who auf der Museumsmeile. Dort verzaubern am 12. Juli auch der kubanische Superstar Juanes und am 21. Juli Schmusebarde Seal die Frauenherzen. Reggaefans kommen beim Summerjam vom 14. bis 16. Juli am Fühlinger See mit u.a. Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff auf ihre Kosten.

Keith Richards kann mit den Rolling Stones am 23. Juli im RheinEnergieStadion richtig abrocken. Fürs Vorprogramm haben sich die altbewährten Skandal-Metaller von Guns’n’Roses angesagt.

Shooting-Star Jamie Cullum ist am 26. Juli auf der Museumsmeile in Bonn, am 1. August schmachtet dort Eros Ramazzotti, am 19. August gibt‘s Simply Red.

Zwei blitzschnell ausverkaufte Konzerte, 80.000 Zuschauer und Kreischfaktor 10: Robbie Williams rockt am 8. und 9. August die Jahnwiesen in Köln. Wir sind Helden am 18. August im Tanzbrunnen. Und hoffentlich hat Petrus ein Einsehen und lässt und die Pop-, Rock- und Reggae-Fans im Trockenen feiern...

Maybe Guns N Roses will "postpone" like Stones ...............

Maybe this has been addressed elsewhere, but I haven't kept close tabs on Axl/G'n'R', so I wonder - Just who are Guns 'n' Roses this year? I recall an interview with Stevie Salas last fall in which he said Buckethead had no interest in working as one of Axl's hired Guns again, after that US tour a couple or three years ago...Maybe Ax could get the long lost original drummer (fired 15 years ago) back, but the others are enjoying considerable commercial success on their own.

Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Robin Finck (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboard), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Brain (drums) and new guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (who has only been in the band for two weeks!)

Is this another one of those "fake" posts???

All super good musicians, as was Buckethead, but no more G'n'R than Jeff Beck is a Stone....

It's nothing more than an all-star cover band. Axl should give up using the Guns 'N' Roses name and just call it "Axl Rose and the (Hired Guns, or whatever band name they come up with)." Still, nice lineup, with former members from the Replacements, Psychedelic Furs, Nine Inch Nails, Primus and, um, Guns 'N' Roses.
