not a fan of big fancy stage designs. i liked the stripped down look for the NS tour.

alltimer is, of course, the lotus stage. that'll never be topped.

Steel Wheels - probably the largest stage in rock history - it was unbelievable!

I enjoyed the Bridges To Babylon stage. Very nice, loved the intro with the bang.

The lotus stage was far and away the best. 94 with the cobra wins second place. The licks stage and sound system sucked big time, though the video screens were good.

what matters is the music that comes forth from the stage - i don't really care otherwise.

I vote for Steel Wheels B2B almost seemed cluttered. IMO the sound of 40 Licks was lacking at a lot of the venues. The Cobra; I did find it impressive, but after the original flame throwing, I never figured it out. It just seemed like a massive prop to be there and only used a few seconds in the opening.

smile: yeah, it kinda reminded me of ... well, never mind! :E
the stages don't really mean that much to me, though.

Keith, be well - all the way, baby, all the way

rockman, do you have a pic of the stage they used for MSG in '97 or '98?

I like Steel Wheels, ABB, and VL. I hated Licks and B2B

To me the Steel Wheels Stage was the most impressive I ever saw (london 90). Looked like a city. Voodoo Lounge stage was nice piece of work too. B2B wasn't my cup of tea, 40licks stage was sloppy. The Bigger Bang Stage is nice.

Urban Jungle stage was fun (Europe 90) was fun because of the dogs and women.
Most stages aren't that impressive anymore.

I love the Steel Wheels one. The '75 one was also very cool. Anyone knows why the dropped it for the '76 tour?

buchie wrote "To me the Steel Wheels Stage was the most impressive I ever saw (london 90)." Yed indeed, but the Steel Wheels stage was not used in Europe '90. The not equaly great Urabn Jungle was-, as you wrote yourself further down in your e-mail.

The Steel Wheels stage WAS used in Turin, Berlin (Weissensee) and Wembley (the two August shows). It can be seen in Live At The Max, which was shot at these shows.

Right, I was in Turin and, as they didn't sell a single ticket for the 2nd night, I heard they filmed a show with no audience for Live at the MAXX.

The lotus is the best of course. I kinda like those outdoorstages in 1981 but their image, Keiths included, makes it bad. The cobra felt very much like the 70s, i liked that.
