For all you Who fans out there, the band announced today that their forthcoming world tour will kick off at Leeds University on June 17th. Should be a great gig and a hot ticket.

The Who? They don't exist anymore. It's an impossibility. Two are dead. Okay, here's the tasteless part. It just came to me. First there was the great "Live at Leeds." Now it will be "Dead at Leeds."

Sorry but...

The Delux double disc of Leeds is simply sublime! One of the all time best live discs ever! The entire band is on fire. The version of My Generation is incredible and so friggin heavy! Love The Amazing Journey/Sparks....

What a show!

Maybe Roger and Pete alone aren't really The Who but,man would I love to see them in concert. Those of you who have a chance to do so are incredibly lucky.

Hey, if Mick & Kieth go out together with a great backup band, rock their ass off and release all the shows in sb quality for a nominal fee, I'd be happy as hell. Although I would call it "Jagger/Richards" and NOT the Stones (ie. Page/Plant). Calling them "The Who" is a bit disengenuious, I agree.

I saw Roger and Pete after John passed, and they still rock. I would go see them again, before I go and see the stones, I'm afraid. Roger can still hold notes and Pete is still full of energy and can play a mean guitar. Zak Starkey is the best drummer the Who have had since Moon. Trust me, dont count these guys out, they put on a great show.

Roger & Pete are great musicians - I saw them performing Quadrophenia in '97. To Entwhistle on bass was one of the biggest concert moments in my life. Unfortunatly he's gone, and so it wouldn' be the same.

Keep on rollin'

I've seen every line up of the who and can safely say that they are better now than they were in the late 70'2 early 80's.

only if they are the object of a preposition, wise guy...

I can't wait to see them again...Mr-c-ox, I've seen all of their line ups, too.

This will be sad to see them without the Ox....No more Boris The Spider or My Wife...damn, I'm getting a little emotional just thinking about it. I can still remember how that bass vibration felt reverberating through the pit of my stomach from their huge speakers...The Ox could freakin' play a bass.

He's been asked this question before.....From my observations, unless he's praising Indian Girl the words he spews are mostly negative....but he's still young.

I don't mind being insulted, Steven, but could you at least attempt a modicum of creativity?

Okay, Nikkibong, if you really mean that you don't mind it, let me have a crack at it (keep in mind I'm not very good at insulting people):

That nikki, bless his heart, he means well but he can hardly wipe the spittle from his drool heavy chin without sounding negative.

Couldn't agree more, the deluxe edition is a revelation. Hearing this and Isle of Wight you realize that for all intents and purposes, they were a "Jam Band" in the early 70's. And a smokin' hot one at that.

new album almost finished...coming out in fall...

this article entitled..."who leader takes jab at rolling stones"

...but that's not really what this article is about...
despite the tabloid heading...

I've seen the Who through their various line ups too and they are still a great act. PT is one my favourite players and a truly geat writer.
The Ox is sadly missed.. but I never had a probem with the drummers. Keith Moon f*****d up as many gigs as he made! [I remember him disappearing and sulking for about half an hour in the middle of one concert at Manchester Belle Vue in 1974 [or 5?]

Personel asside...I think the difference now between the Who and the Stones is that the who have lost their mystique and aura.
For all the ctiticism and comparisons with days gone by,[and manufactured or not]...the Stones still have that in spades.
