Yes I did. I wanted to tell people here about it but my thread was deleted.
Anyway, I bought "The raconteurs". Jack White from the White Stripes plays in that band, so I bought it without listening. I thought it was going to be as cool as a White Stripes CD. But it's not. It's a solid rock band, OK, but there is nothing new or innovative on that record. And so I was a bit disappointed.

What CD's did I buy last week?

NEW PEARL JAM - very good

NEW RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - so far so good

NEW NEIL YOUNG - agree with Neil's politics but the songs don't hook me too much

NEW PAUL SIMON - not bad so far

THE BERLIN PHILHARMONIC 1943!?!?! Wow, thats interesting, because i seriously never knew that Germany was indulging in the arts at that stage. Also, the ending of the 5th symphony, movement 4, is among one of my favorite pieces. It so uplifting and powerful sounding.

Rockman, if you are there, what is the Rock'n Roll Orgy No. 6 record?

How ya doin' Erik....The Rock & Roll Orgy series is a 6 vol set of rare Country Boogie/Rockabilly material released on a no-name label outta England.

Vol 6 is worth it for Jelly Roll Rock by Walter Brown (covered by The Cramps) and actually wrongly titled as Alley Cat on sleeve.

Vol 5 includes Hender Saul's primitive shakin' hunk of noise I Ain't Gonna Rock Tonight....A must for any rockin' boy!!

Thanks for answering! Quite honestly, I've only heard The Cramps of all artists on the volume 6 disc...and I think I've heard more than the average norwegian.
I think they've stole the under-title of no. 5 from Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues....

yesterday, i bought a double cd set of 2 Lou Reed albums: one was the original of "Lou Reed" (his firt solo album, the middle ground between Velvets and Transformer, with totally different versions of Berlin, Ocean, Lisa Says, I Can't Stand It... it is really incredible), along with "Tranfsormer", with the added extras of acoustic versions of "Hangin' Round" and "Perfect Day")

on Tuesday, Bluenote issues the new Dr. John, an album of Johnny Mercer covers, titled "Mercenary". I can't wait!
