Elmo! Thanks for the invite, Will have to take a raincheck. LLBs is a go for me. As you asked, saw them open for the Stones in Memphis, great, great show. They are one of the better live groups around, worth seeing.

Hi Elmo, that sounds good. I know a band that would be good to go see for this kind of event: the yayhoos. That is Dan Baird's newish band. maybe they will be playong in Hot Lanta around the time.

Chelsea...the Dan Baird thing sounds perfect...actually, something small scale like that would probably be best, or maybe no band at all, just Jock and Jills or something like that. (I guess my vote for Tattle Tales wasn't a real popular choice....hey, I saw Chris Robinson in there once...does that help?). Saturday night is probably a must.....

I got the summer guide out ot Thursday's Atlanta paper and will be looking into a good date for us. I'll post here and e-mail those that I correspond with. Thanks for your interest!

Wherever this shindig goes down it needs to not close at midnight!!! That was the biggest downer about the Atlanta show, no post-show party. We tried to find some place to have a few drinks but downtown Atlanta closes as midnight. The bottle of Woodford Reserve in my suitcase was put to good use.

The acoustic thing was at my house (kienan is a nearby friend), not for our Atlanta thing. Any suggestions for a gathering place in the Roswell Road area. Is Fuzzy's still open? Is The Roxy? Any ideas about a small bar with a good band? Help me out, Atlantans!

Yup, Fuzzy's is still open. They have blues every night of the week and are easy to find since they are right off I-85 at North Druid Hills Rd.

There use to be a good place on Roswell Rd but they closed down. It was called Whiskers. The Roxy is pretty much a place for concerts and not really a bar like Fuzzy's that would be good for a bunch of folks sitting around a table.
Fuzzy's is my favorite place, and they usually have good music.

Maybe I missed it but when is this going to be and about how many people?

I don't think you've missed anything, marv....no date has been set and the number of people probably can't be determined until we get a date....I guess it's up to Elmo....it sounds like he might want your assistance if we do it at Fuzzy's

Thanks, marvpeck. Fuzzy's might be the best place. No way to please everyone, but I'm thinking most of us like blues-based RNR. Think they could handle 15-20 of us? Date to be decided, a Saturday night in late June or early July, most likely.

Guys, why does it have to be the Roswell Rd area? That is where most def NON Stoners hang out. And Buckhead has been dead for years.
Think Va Highlands ' Blind Willie's ALWAYS has top notch Blues. That is where Jagger, Keith, Leavell, Rick Richards, Mac etc all go everytime they are in Hot Lanta. drak Horse tavern (where I have played many times and the Robinson Bros too) And one block from there are plenty of all night watering holes. Atkins Park, Limerick Junction, Hand in Hand (used to work for them). Many ATMs in stumbling distance too...for when drake runs out of late nite funds and needs to re-up.
