i think if you search
rolling stones red skelton
on youtube.com u will get a really funny and sweet and cool twenty minutes or so of very early stones at a ballroom with skelton clowning around a bit in the audience...
someone here at iorr first posted on this clip a few months ago...
i enjoyed it so much i sent the link to all my friends...

i dunno how to put a link or a pic up here on the forum tho...

(skelton was a classic pantomime and clown with a tv show at the time) circa '64 i'm pretty sure; so the footage is really priceless...

all the guys on a small bandstand together...music is really good too...
at least 3 songs if i remember correctly; and skelton has a very warm, goofy sweet comic presence...without even saying a word...silly but really sweet he was...

fun to see the band before the 'image' was totally together and alla that...
keith in tie and suit jacket i think....
wow, just mentioning keith and i'm back in 'that' spot...
boyohboy....

ty you stikky for alla that... i think there are some others lurkin' about there as well...

Dear Chris: YES YES... please excuse me; how generous and caring...
please don't think me ungrateful and ungracious...
for u to take the time and care to send those shows just knocks me out...
it's beyond the pale generous spirited...
it's really like xmas for me with that; i take it very personally and am blown away, ty...
my work travels and my communications, and my punkinhaid have been a leetle crazy these past months in a row...i don't like travel but i like to BE in the places i have to go once i get there...but it's disorienting after awhile.

i just got back to tenn over last weekend (and i've only been here for a year)and was just digging thru everthing late last night...
please excuse me not writing back immediately; i know u must've sent this weeks ago, yes?
Chris thank you...
i'll write to yer email... and hope you understand how precious this is to me
thank you.
please excuse my horrible manners with a really gracious gift of time and effort and care.

for a fan to reach out like that for fun and free with just the spirit of sharing and caring about the band and each other really knocks me out...
...i hope there's something special i can share back with you...

i've got the '73 honolulu show on right now and it's precious to me immediately; haven't gotten to the other show yet...
then was thinking, amidst all this with keith; that this was mickt's last show...in honolulu...where the last show of ABB is scheduled...unless things move or change...then i just try to get back into the music...

so far it's breathtaking...even the opener, Brown Sugar...when they go into the chorus riff..."dum de dum de dum dumm... Brown Sugaaah"
when they hit the first beat on that everything explodes together, wildass jerry lee lewis stuttering fierce pounding piano chords, both guitars...bill and charlie...holy moly Chris... thank you...and i've just gotten thru the first track!!
is it me, or did the horns used to be tighter and louder and more funky or something?

yes i got 'em; man i'm grateful...

No problem about not having responded Beelyboy. I was just curious if you got them and how you liked them. It seems that you did on both counts and so that's great! Enjoy them to the fullest and feel free to share them! Rock on!

This is easily my favourite Rolling Stones video - the energy in there is pure Stones and even though it's Mick singing over the record, so to speak, he breathes even more life into a fantastic song! How does he do that?

By the way it's from Top of the Pops!

I liked the Out of Tears video. It's nice to see the Stones doing non-performance videos. I'm sure it would look better on a TV instead of a computer.

There was an uploader on Youtube called Euterpejones or something like that who uploaded loads of vids, such as 45 mins. of Aux Abatoires, an hour of Knebworth 76, and that lovely 60 mins. BBC documentary from the Licks era featuring Marianne Faithful, Bono and others.

Unfortunately she got banned from youtube because of the apparent obscene nature of some of the Stones' vids!

A pity.

There's also a live verison of Dancing In The Streets from Prince's Trust Benefit 1986 up now. Unfortunately incomplete.
Plus an awful pop-song with Mandy Smith!, if you search.
