Jheeeesh, I had a meeting about a free cruise I HAVE to go on for work. hehehehe.

Yup love J. Geils band. It was my first concert ever for the Freeze Frame tour, but I was listening to them before that. Peter Wolf really is a great front man as mentioned above. I love the way he cracks himself up too. That band really did seem like they were having a blast. Really sucks that they couldn't withstand the crap that comes from success. Robbed us of a lot of good music.

I used to see Peter in Boston a lot in random places. He really stands out with that white skin and jet black messy hair. I still can't believe he was married to Faye Dunaway though, I just can't picture that.

I think the album with No Anchovies was Love Stinks. Another good song from their later albums was Angel in Blue. Piss on a Wall was a lot of fine, and Desire.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

well, that's a relief.

only saw them 2x when they opened for the Stones in '81, so that's not very fair. Thought they were pretty good until the main act showed up.

Saw Magic Dick a few weeks ago at a harmonica blow off. He still blows.

yes, Love Stinks. Thanks, CindyC...

that wasn't quite the mischievous reply we were all anticipating but I'll take it nonetheless

I wanted to respond to RSK45 about the Chicago 1978 Stones concert. Geils wasn't there, but Tosh was along with Southside Johnny. I don't remember Journey there either, but my memory might have blotted out the bad stuff....

Yeah, "No Anchovies Please" was on Love Stinks.

"Angel In Blue" was on Freeze Frame. It sounds a lot like "Cry One More Time" from the early days.

Some other favorites:

"Start All Over"
"Back To Get Ya"
"One Last Kiss"
"I Could Hurt You"
All of Monkey Island

i grew up in a smalltown, near Windsor, Ont, and so all our local radio was from Detroit, mainly WRIF fm... i was a huge fan of J Geils!!! and Peter Wolf is so seriously underrated in rock... i agree Kurt, one of the greatest frontmen ever!

oh yeah, and "no anchovies" was classic. they need a good rock station here in London - i miss all those great tunes!

(blast from the past my ass - it's just great music)

Peter Wolf was married to Faye "my sister" - slap,"my daughter" - slap, "sister - slap!, daughter - slap! Dunaway, ice queen extraordinaire? Worst wannabe-method actress right after Julia Roberts? Why???
I did not understand why the JGeils Band went under when they finally achieve dwhat they had worked so hard to get. I do se that they might feel like they got to the top with a different concept than they had in mind at first. Seth Justman took over writing and production; wasn't that the huge change? The change that got them their hit album?
