OT: MEXICO TO DECRIMINALIZE ALMOST ALL DRUGS
Posted by: MicksBrain ()

Just came over on the news. Mexico will me decriminalizing almost all drugs.

including: (Less than) 5 grams of MARIJUANA / 5 grams of OPIUM / 25 milligrams of HEROIN / 500 milligrams of COCAINE
ALSO: small amounts of LSD / AMPHETAMINES / PEYOTE / (magic) MUSHROOMS

They are doing this to concentrate on the large drug dealers. They feel the amounts that will no longer be against the law is because it is for personal use only. On first thought it might not be a bad idea... you're opinion (if you care)

That should reverse the U.S. immigration problem.

excellent point, Mark! Perhaps this is all being engineered by the US as our immigration policy! Finally the admininistration is waking up!

It's about time! Pot and even minimal amounts of personal cocaine use is not among Mexico's chief concerns. The country needs to go after the big dealers and fight corruption to make it easier to do business with and safer. It's such a beautiful and rich country after all and has a lot to offer. Isn't Mexico where chocolate originated? I believe so!

actually the US press where I first saw this is making it seem more wide open than what I read online in Mexico City papers. According to Mexican newspapers to not be prosecuted one would have to be an a registry maintained by the Dept of Health....showing your an "addict" or have medical reasons...how that works with acid I cant quite figure out..lol..interesting development fer sure though

I'm scheduled to go to vacation in Acapulco next month! Hell, it may as well be legal anyway. Believe me, they're ain't no rules in Mexico. FYI : in every town there is a place (small house, store-front, building etc.) where the police sell drugs to the general public and tourists (not in uniform of course) - whatever and however much you want. This is no shit. Just go there and ask around (if you have the balls). It's freakin' "Out of Control" down there.

I think it is a very good idea for Mexico. they don't have a big problem with personal druguse among their own people. There will be many coming liek to Amsterdam to go crazy, make fools of themselves but to drop a lot of foreign money.

Nikkibong - very sharp on the Cancun answer, that brain works fast my man

So now we have THE TRIANGLE OF BLISS: Amsterdam, Vancouver, Mexico.......

Is this a surprise? The country is run by drug dealers. For all of you morons that think this is a good thing I suggest you move down there. The corruption in a country with a great climate and abundant natural resources that ended up a shit hole is precisely because of the drug dealers. Perhaps the heroin dealers in Afganistan have made that country appealing to you as well.

The war against hard drugs will never be won. Unless users are treated and obtain their drug legally. One burglar commited 1,000 crimes to pay his addiction. 1 user = 1,000 victims. The courts are already clogged up with all this and less serious drug crimes. About 90% of UK heroin comes from Afghanistan. And yet it still makes it's way here. UK and US customs only seize the tip of the iceberg.

The Dutch are light years ahead with their approach. And Mexico have seen the light. Does hash lead to harder drugs? Rubbish. We all make our choice. My friend gets his daily methadone and sells it for heroin. Then he goes shoplifting everyday to subsidise his low income for smokes and more cheap potentially lethal heroin. He is not a bad person. He is hopelessly addicted. This is not a crime. Why not prescribe the heroin he needs.

If countries open their eyes and minds they can make a difference.
Last month in Scotland an 11 year old girl was taken to hospital. She overdosed on heroin. Do you want your child doing this? No, neither do I.

Hey Lukester, you're a little late: Carlos died about 8 years ago (or left this world maintaining his personal energy having burned from the fire within - if you believe some of his followers).

As we all know by now Mr George W. Bush will be remembered as one of the Great American presidents.
If he would legalize heroin, crack and marijuana he'd be remembered as the Greatest American president EVER.
The winning combination of drugs and alcohol would make me a better and more relaxed driver any day.
We're talking heroin with the president so to speak.

I should have qualified my statement by saying, "...calling Carlos Castaneda's personal energy having burned from the fire within." Nevertheless, his personal energy isn't picking up the phone. Thanks, anyway, Tseverin.
