How come? I'm just curious. What does it have or show that makes it the best (in your eyes)?

Well,it's the best sound/picture/performance combination from the '75 tour (at the least).I play it on a home theater system. The guitars are loud & clear.Star Star is excellent to name one.

Do you possibly know the setlist of the LA 75 DVD.

It is a complete proshot document that is really great. It IS the 1975 setlist with Billy Prestons' 2 songs included.

all the best.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Why? Mick Taylor. So good you'd swear it was overdubbed.

picking just one from that list is pretty impossible - are we talkin about someone's First Bootleg DVDs here?

Ladies & Gentleman 72
LA 75
Hampton 81
Atlantic City 89
Miami 94

for earlier and later years i'd pick other stuff than what's on that list.
some of the stuff that's on that list i'd put in the Jewel in the Crown category - essential, but you need the context first.

How about the TAMI show for early Stones. You get the benefit of seeing Jan & Dean skateboard onto the stage, and James Brown sweat. Great period piece.

The Marquee/Montreux Rumble is very good. Also L.A. Forum '75.

"Hampton Roads, VA 1981".

But ofcourse, it's a matter of taste. This one has awesome quality. Although LA Blues is a great DVD musically, loads of songs, great performance, good sound, it lacks video qualtiy. So you have to ask yourself what's more important; music or video.

it's also at least partly a question of what the person already owns, no?
getting the official releases and PPV stuff might be a pretty reasonable start,
and then filling in the blanks from there.
it doesn't take long before a body knows what s/he needs more of ...

Of the more modern stuff, Palais Royale, Toronto, 2002, is far better than anything from Four Flicks. It's a fantastic club show at the start of the tour, long before the setlist became as predictable as everything else.

Professionally shot, the sound, picture and performance are superb. Highly recommended!
