I know what you mean. I thought my counsellor and psychologist were complete arse holes. My dad is a counsellor, a very good one. But he can't treat me, as you know. But with the odd bombshell from him with my own type of therapy life has got better and better.

As for making mistakes, you will get used to that one. We all make them through out our entire lives. Look at me. I only just heard Main Offender. See what I mean. Good luck. We all need a bit sometimes.

Yeager, sorry to hear your sad tale. However you are a living testament to recovery and the human spirit. Take care.

Isn't it cool how we can have "deep" threads like this?

Rep and J50, here's a little poem a friend of mine used to say. Hope you like it. It helps on bad days.

Hang in there,
And keep the faith,
Be cool,
and get ahead.

and Elmo, here's one I wrote a few years ago...looking at it now though, I don't think it's helpful:

Smoke in the room,
smoke in the air,
smoke in my lungs,
and I don't care.

I wrote this a few years ago.

I drink lots of beer,
I smoke cigarettes,
They say I'll get lung cancer,
But I haven't got it yet.

Also not very helpful.

I wrote this one:

The small boy grows
Into a man
With no one there
To hold his hand.

I suppose that don't help either.

My music, especially the Stones, Gram Parsons and Bob Dylan always help me right now, because I figured out that my dad has grown into an heavy psychopatic alcoholic (epsilon-type).
After a day like this, a day full of mother's tears and frightened little brothers, I really enjoy listening to a good recording of "Worried About You" from the Licks tour, it always reminds me of my early days as a Stones fan, when I tried to get every single recording from the current tour and was up all night to listen to this great music.

Hanns, bro, I wish I could help you but I can't. It sounds like your mom, your brothers, and your dad all need you to keep it cool. That's easier said than done, bro,' I know. Take care of yourself first, because that's the only thing you have any control over and hopefully the others will follow your lead. Be strong.
