When was the last time the Stones played "Dancing With Mr. D" in concert?
Just listened to the Brussels, Belgium show from Oct. 17, 1973. Blazing version of "Dancing With Mr. D." Band sounded in great form all the way around.
Having only started attending Stones shows with Steel Wheels tour (just old enough by then) I have not really been up to speed on some of the older live shows. That said Mick Taylor's guitar playing especially on the 10/17/73 show is somewhat awe inspiring for any era. I finally get all of the Taylor posts on IORR. Structure, timing, sustain, fluidity, vibrato, and very lyrical, all of the elements of great guitar playing.
Nikkibong, you're SO wrong on this one. Dancing is a killer song when played with some energy (like LIVE) The album version suffers from Jamaican Weed poisoning (like a lot of lethargic songs on there).......
Some guys just don't get it! Goats Head Soup is magnificent, but the live versions on the following tour was even better. I listened through Europe 73 yesterday. The sound is better than on Brussels Affair etc, BUT I really miss the loud sax/trumbone. You can't hardly hear them!

Logie ,
Could you post that version. MR. D is one of my alltime favorite live recordings that they have
I have been listening to the new Halcyon label version of the Brussels 10/17/73 show. I am sure that this show has been booted to death but the sound on the Halcyon label is simply outstanding..........one of those that you would swear is better than anything official. Wish I could or knew how to post a song or two. All of the band is really on but Taylor is simply on fire! Taylor's guitar work on Gimme Shelter is really incredible! May be my favorite version ever of Gimme Shelter.
"Dancing with Mr. D" is one of those songs that I would love for Chuck to bring up and get the approval for playing at least sometimes on the remainder of the Bang tour. From what I read on here Chuck is the one responsible for inclusion of new songs or at least for making the suggestions to Keith and Mick.

Sorry Virgil, I don't have it anymore!
Can someone out there do us both a favour? Oh and while you're at it, post us both the version of @#$%& from the same gig as well.
Is Mr. D supposed to be the Devil or death? I've always thought death (it discusses a number of ways of dying), which would rule out the SFTD comparisons.

Thanks for the instructions Vigil. I will try to post DWMD and Gimme Shelter later today. I'm not very good at that kinda thing but will give it a try.
Rockman may have this set too - at least he has the front cover art.
I too was hoping that DWMD could somehow make it's way on to the set list this tour at some point. Would make a great opportunity for Ronnie.
Rockman, I don't know about you but I've had this version for about 2 weeks and I am afraid that I may wear out the Disc I play it every day. I need to make extra copies so I can keep it in the car and house too.
Hey. I haven't heard about this label, guys! Is it CD or CDR? How can the quality be better? Is it like Sister Morophine, who turns up the treble, or.... I'm interested in this.

The label is CD. As for how the sound could be better that could be accomplished any number of ways but first and foremost would be securing a better generational tape of the shows.
Will try to Post a few from Brussels later today........
