Has anyone heard anything from Ticketmaster re; the transfer to Twickenham & what seats we might be in?

I think on an earlier thread someone had received an e-mail from them asking if they were ok with the venue change.

I hav'nt heard from them at all - anyone else in the same boat?

Yep, i'm in the same boat as you are.
I've asked for a refund but i haven't heard from them since.

Cheers,

I'm not sure about floor seating, but if you’re in the stands, I don't think the switch will make ant difference. For instance, if you've got tickets for Upper tier, to the left of the stage, that’s where you'll be situated at Twickenham. They didn’t specify more than that because Wembley was and IS STILL under construction!

Twickenham’s a nice place and a nice environment too. I'd personally rather be there than Wembley. I'm not talking about the stadium itself, just the area. There’s a nice pub nearby called the Cabbage Patch where many Stones fans meet before the show. I'll be in there sinking a few.

I'm not sure about transport, but I'm going with my old man for the Sunday show, so we'll be driving. There is a tube station there, but I think it's a fair old treck back to Central London.

no tube station at Twickenham.
It's a British Rail Station (Mainline into London Waterloo)
Nearest tube station is Richmond B.R /tube

For The Cabbage Patch pub, turn left out of Twickenham BR, walk over rail bridge, and its on the other side of the road, in front of you.

..a popular but busy choice, on event-days.
feel free to ask, if you require, info, on alternative Twickenham pubs.

Well, it was heaving in there last time round. I just plan to go where everyone else is going! Is there any great pubs which are a little less packed?

if you want quality ale, then, it's The Fox
(Church St- 3 mins walk from Cabbage Patch)

The Rugby Tavern (directly opposite The Cabbage Patch), is another good pub, and a good alternative.
Problem with The Cabbage Patch, is , it will be full to the rafters (10 deep at the bar)...the Shidoobean's are using it as their Twickenham meeting spot...so it'll be rammed- i'd go elsewhere.

Full to the rafters? It'll be just like last time then!

I think the reason it's so popular is the obvsious Stones connectionas it has. Does'nt Art Wood perform there sometimes? I'm just going to see how it goes. What are your pre-show plans?

yes- the Eel Pie Club, is based there

Art turns up, every now and again, with his 'All-Stars'.

Pre-show plans?- like you, i'll 'go with the flow'- but i hate queuing for beer, and will pop across the road, to The Rugby Tavern, if i have to.

no problem- relieve oneself into a plastic pint glass, at the show, and through in the direction of Motley Crue (in the event of them being the support act)

its called the Cabbage Patch, cos in days of yore, Twickenham Rugby Ground site, used to be on the site of allotments that grew cabbages.

It was most recently used for this purpose during WW2, (when it wasn't getting the shite bombed out of it, by the Nazis)

About Twickenham stadium.

I am planning to see my one and only Rolling Stones gig of this tour there. And I don't feel like spending too much money either, and thereby take a lower price ticket (£40/60). Any experiences of those seats? Is it worth anything? Bad view and even worse sound?

I didn't have any plans to see the band this time at all for various reasons (tired of stadiums, just had a baby, not playing here in Finland, the condition of band, etc.), but... well, my girlfriend hasn't seen the band ever, so it is like my duty to take her once to witness the 'miracle' (that is also my excuse for getting to see them!). We have been thinking about St. Petersburg or Twickenham, but I prefer seeing The Stones at their home ground, near the place where it all started...

So I'll be very grateful any info for the seating in Twickenham. And about the local pubs also smiling smiley

The thread seems to have turned into a pub crawl - still,no worries - if our great seats have tuned into crap seats at least we'll know where the pubs are.

Re: Twickenham

seriously, though - aren't the shows really just an excuse for the main event, which is the before/after pub crawl? let's not lose sight of what's important, here....

Well, I went to both Twickenham shows in 2003 - on the pitch for the first, which was great, but we were up in the rafters for the secind gig snd the sound was dreadful and we watched everything on the screen - BUT it was fkkking great though.

I haven't heard anything from Ticketmaster UK after I replied to them that I still want to attend both shows despite the change of venue.

I take it the pitch seating will be the same as it was for Wembley.

Anything else would definitely be unacceptable since I got front row seats in block A1 for both concerts.

I wouldn't hesitate to file a major lawsuit against Ticketmaster and Mr Cohl if I would end up with worse seats than I paid for in the first place. LOL!

Going to both shows. Got an e-mail for each. Must respond by May 5th. One refund for my brother is being repaid to his card account by Ticketmaster. That's all I've got so far. TM said there should be floor seats. Good luck!

That’s right. I've just read the E-mail I was sent. Please tell me. Am I right in thinking that you only have to respond by 5th May if YOU WANT a refund? Otherwise, your tickets will arrive as normal?
