Who's Gonna Replace Charlie?

Mick Fleetwood? Ginger Baker? Who do you think it will be?

Personally, I'm hoping it's Levon Helm.

Assuming the article is true, and I DON'T, it still doesn't say Charlie's leaving the band, he wants to stop touring on such a large scale. And Keith has often said they'd stop without Charlie. So they'll have to do either small gigs or no gigs at all. So no replacing going on.

TooRude, What a Rude thread !!!

Well, OK. But think of the possibilities: now that Levon Helm has his voice back, he could sing "Happy" during Keith's slot so that Keith could focus on posing with his guitar!

Ha ha, I kid, I kid...

I know they won't be doing any "replacing". If they did, I would renounce the band with heart and soul. Just one of those absurd hypotheticals.

Long live the Stones!

Ahh, I like hypotheticals.

Well, what about Alex Van Halen? Hell of a drummer and he appears to be kind of out of a job.

No one will replace him hes not quiting he just dosent want to do any more year long tours. He will still do albums and smaller tours. Plus I would not be suprised if he changes his mind and they do more world tours inthe future.

They COULD have made it far.. they were a hell of a band. Anyway I'd love to see them with a real rock drummer like him. Charlie was, what the hell am I doing??! Charlie IS a good rock drummer too, but he's a jazz drummer in his heart. It's like you take a jazz record and play it twice as fast. It's cool, but Alex would sure speed 'em up. Plus, he could fill 5 minutes with one of his über-cool drum solo's.

Yeah - during Start Me Up - instead of Ronnie's solo, we get Alex! Jagger could stand at the lip of the stage with his arms akimbo and just rock side to side for five minutes. That would be awesome! Bernard and Lisa could clap to the beat...

Haha yeah, and if we're being hypothetical, KICK OUT RON WOOD, and replace him with Eddie Van Halen, he'll put some kick-ass notes on that toe-curling Start Me Up solo by Woody!

That would be cool.. my favorite bands mixed up..

I don't want to see the Stones replace Charlie but if/when he quits I bet they will. Mick and Keith still have a few more world tours in them. My money's on Jim Keltner or Kenny Jones.

i don't know the answer to that one but maybe whoever it is should form a super power group threesome!!! the return of the power group. coooollll..
say darryl, chuck and the new drummer... like emerson lake and arnold palmer...
are the rolling stones... then u replace the others too, all in one shot...keep the logo, license the name...this could work!!!!

The problem is, they can only let in say, 2000 fans, and there's only a REALLY, REALLY small chance you'll be one of them. You won't be so happy, then!
