Your kid's favorite songs
Posted by: Montrealsuperfan ()

Instead of complaining about warhorses, lack of blues songs, setlists, Stones vs. Macca etc. etc. let's list our kids favorite Stones songs.(a good topic for a holiday Friday)

My son is 7 years old. His favorites in order:

1. You can't always get what you want
2. Worried about You (Live Licks)
3. You got me Rockin'
4. Start me Up
5> Shattered

My son's almost 5. He likes:

Old MacDonald
London Bridge
Frere Jaques
Sur le Pont D'Avignon
Jumping Jack Flash
Yer Blues
Elvis' Blue Hawaii album
Boom Boom by JLH

My son likes:
Elvis
Lee Perry
Hank Williams
The Stooges
and, he just started really getting into James Brown Love Power Peace (live 1970)

Land of 1,000 Dances - Pickett
Yakety Yak - Coasters
Blue Moon Of Kentucky - Elvis' version
Up For The Downstroke - Parliament
Actually, he loves pretty much any Parliament he hears (not so crazy about Funkadelic, though).
Honky Tonk Women
Rocks Off

My little girl loves gospel (Marion Williams in particular) as well as the Maisy theme song, and anything she can dance to (especially James Brown and the Meters). She's quite a little singer as well.

when my daughter was about 2 her two favorites were contemporaries of the time:

Neil's Rockin' in the "Fee" World
Petty's "Fee" Fallin'

...the kid still has good taste, tooo

Oops, sorry. I hope you realize I meant a fully clothed photo. Perhaps even that oversteps the boundaries of good taste. Sorry, must edit original post now.

And he really rocks out on the Ballad of Davy Crockett.

That Davy Crockett song reminds me of another guy we used to listen to a lot growing up. Johnny Horton. Anyone else familiar with him. Not sure how to describe him, part rockabilly/part folk maybe.

He did Battle of New Orleans, North to Alaska, and Sink the Bismark.

I like his music.

yeah, he was a lot of fun. around here (boston) it seemed we were the only one's who knew him (not that I asked around much or anything).

In 1814, we took a little trip...

My girl is 4 and a half and says every now and then:

Papa I want to you to play Rolling Stones. I want to hear Don't Stop. An as a kind daddy that I am, I need to make my daughters wish come true so we go down to my music room and puts on a CD with Don't Stop. Then she goes No No No I want it on TV. Well then daddy digs out Four Flicks and plays Don't Stop on TV. Then she needs to see Miss You and You Got Me Rocking. Then my lady needs to se her favourite one Out Of Control, on TV also...
Then the ladies goes to sleep and I can start to play music from the only correct format.... da elpees.. with the DECCA text as non boxed.

Have a look on my music room on my homepage

I remember when my son was very into both Raffie and the Stones at age 5. The first Stones song he enjoyed was Get Off My Cloud.

And I remember the "bad parent" glances I'd get when I'd tell people my 6 year old loved the Stones. Now he's 16 and we travel around to Stones shows together, and I don't know which one of us is the bigger fan.

My little 4 year old boy, Jimmy Dick, loves "Too Drunk To F*ck" by The Dead Kennedys....he's not a Stones fan yet. Just The Dead Kennedys, Old IGGY, and The Plasmatics....
