It's official: Biggest Mistake is the next single. It will be released the 29th of may. It's been confirmed by Virgin/EMI.

This may be the Stones "biggest mistake" since releasing Streets of Love as the first single.
What are they thinking?

It's a pretty good song, but there are a bunch of others on A Bigger Bang I like better. Oh well, maybe we'll get some good b sides on the single. Let's hope there's no dance mix.

Good points. It doesn't really matter what they release as a single, their chances of having a hit at this point are nil. Unless they release Biggest Mistake as a country line dance mix, retitled "Achy Breaky Biggest Mistakey"

No unreleased recordings left from ABB sessions, Biggest Mistake is a hard song to remix, so expect live recordings the tour or ABB songs.

Apparently SOL became a hit in Italy cuz they sold it for advertising. Perhaps the only way for BM to be a hit is if the Stones sell the rights to it to Trojan Man or Durex.

I beg to disagree!

I like the laid back, tongue-in-cheek approach to the song, which reminds me of Faraway Eyes in many ways. The backing vocals too are fantastic!

It's also a nice ballad in itself. Not a sickly, slushy, over-the-top type that Lionel Richie would put out, but a down-to-earth countryesque lament.

...and Keith's licks aren't too bad either.

Somehow, I'm surprised by this choice. It is a good song with good lyrics, but somehow I had expected them to go for one of the louder tunes.

I would have remixed Under the Radar, bringing up the guitars, shortened it to radio length, added it to the European Tour Version of the album and sold more CD's
