It was my first Stones show-still in first year of college. Drove 10 hours from Montreal-what a great time. I just went back and checked my stub- the general admission ticket was $10 ! My buddies and I ended up 30 feet from the stage.

If I remember correctly, George Thorogood was the opening act.

well, a good part of it was the atrocious sound coming from the b-stage - it was just "off." There were far better versions on the tour of Whip....got the boot? have you listened to it since that night?

Oh I'm back in the saddle, baby, well not really a saddle, more like chaps, I guess. Hey Debra, thanks for those nice things you said about me in my shamelessly vain "goodbye" thread. I look forward to chit chatting again like nobody's business.

Strange guitar-intro by Taylor on Gimme Shelter that evening. He sounds like a keyboard or trumbone or steelguitar, something in-between those 3 instruments.

Nope. Havent heard it since that night. I was pretty close to the B stage that night. thats probalby why i didn t' hear the problems.
One thing that bothered me was that during the start of Brown Sugar some guy behind me was complaining that he couldnt find his cell phone! Can you imagine the nerve? right after the opining riff he was like "Can you just look under your seat?"

True we already exchange words on this. I was just a 18-year old fan. Sweating, sweating...As It was real hot at the brand new Forest National. From the train which was stopped miles from the Arena to the location, we were surrounded and looked after by belgium policemen ( on horse and by foot). I will attend the Belgium show this year 33 years after that gig. Sounds strange to me. No Bill, No MickT.
