jigsaw puzzle lyrics

Someone knows if the last verse refers to something that happened
in the end of the sixties in england ?
I mean this verse:

Oh there's 20 000 grandmas wave their hankies in the air
And burning up their pensions and shouting "It's not fair"
There's a regiment of soldiers standing, looking on
And the Queen is bravely shouting "What the Hell is going on?"
With a blood-curdling "Tally-ho", she charged into the ranks
And blessed all those grandmas who with their dying breaths screamed "Thanks"

"Witha blood curdling tally-ho she charges..." What great line.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

I like this song, but it sounds like Mick trying to be Bob Dylan. What's up with the bishop's daughter? Aren't they (bishops) celibate? Is that the irony of the lyric? Am I "Running Too Deep"?

Roman Catholic bishops are celibate. Well most of 'em are anyway [en.wikipedia.org] . Would have thought that other Christian bishops are free to marry, have kids etc

One of the most beautiful lines in a song (always loved it).

As a youngster of 15/16 years old I remember that a lot of people were dissatisfied about a lot of things, war, work (strikes) and living (houses) and a lot more.
There were students riots around the world about any thing.

So in that time it was easy to put a lot of dissatisfaction stuff in a song.

Here it is in all it´s glory, see what you make of it...:

JIGSAW PUZZLE
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

There's a tramp sittin' on my doorstep
Tryin' to waste his time
With his methylated sandwich
He's a walking clothesline
And here comes the bishop's daughter
On the other side
She looks a trifle jealous
She's been an outcast all her life

Me, I'm waiting so patiently
Lying on the floor
I'm just trying to do my jig-saw puzzle
Before it rains anymore

Oh the gangster looks so fright'ning
With his luger in his hand
But when he gets home to his children
He's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty
He can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious
He's been an outlaw all his life

Me, I'm waiting so patiently
Lying on the floor
I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle
Before it rains anymore

Me, I'm waiting so patiently
Lying on the floor
I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle
Before it rains anymore

Oh the singer, he looks angry
At being thrown to the lions
And the bass player, he looks nervous
About the girls outside
And the drummer, he's so shattered
Trying to keep on time
And the guitar players look damaged
They've been outcasts all thier lives

Me, I'm waiting so patiently
Lying on the floor
I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle
Before it rains anymore

Oh, there's twenty-thousand grandmas
Wave their hankies in the air
All burning up their pensions
And shouting, "It's not fair!"
There's a regiment of soldiers
Standing looking on
And the queen is bravely shouting,
"What the hell is going on?"

With a blood-curdling "tally-ho"
She charged into the ranks
And blessed all those grandmas who
With their dying breaths screamed, "Thanks!"

Me, I'm just waiting so patiently
With my woman on the floor
We're just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle
Before it rains anymore

Dylan sucks. No talent. He's only famous for his looks.

Always wander what they mean with "Before it rains anymore"

Probaly it is with most of the songs in that time ït's sounds good"

Remember they ask Gary Brooker what he means with "whiter Shade Of Pale" answer, nothing just sounds good.

Streets of Love is one great tune, I tell you. And, I don't think I've heard a finer rocker by the Stones than You Got Me Rockin'....it always pains me when they skip that warhorse in concert.

Yeah, Agreed. I was so surprised when they played Start Me Up, Satisfaction, BS, JJF at the last concert I saw. That was a rare treat, I'm telling you! I was getting so sick of That's How Strong My Love Is and Shine A Light.

Always wander what they mean with "Before it rains anymore"

For Bob Dylan the rain was an image for drugs.
"As i stand inside the rain" for example in Just like a woman.

Also "beware it's raining" is a code between free masons meaning : a non-mason is listenning

I got the answer thanks to a guy named jean patrick Wendt
