Alwasy quotes from an
> interview he read "Man, I carry a knife and I
> ain't afraid to use it on the geezer.." is a line
> Keith used recently.

Sounds pretty cold to me even if its his pirate image talkin. On the other hand Ive read stories of how he seemed cold about Brian, Taylor and his aggressions. OK, he' s Keith but I wonder how black his soul really is.

my memory of it from college courses is that the brain hemispheres actually degrade and shrink. however, pulling out one of the texts, it reads that Korsakoff's syndrome "...occurs in patients who have been chronic alcoholics for many years and is accompanied by significant pathology of the brain, especially degeneration of certain structures within the limbic system [the part of the brain associated with emotion]. Such patients may exhibit remote memory loss extending ten years or more and may involve all periods of the pateint's life."

well, i've seen keith express emotion so his limbic system is not destroyed, and he seems to have a good memory for people and events (with many right-on comments), so i won't diagnose him with this (or Ron either) yet...i guess its just your average sloppy-drunk behavior that the rest of us exhibit on occasion.

I heard or read an interview with some guy actor I think cant for the life of me remember who it was.

He was at some award thing and keith was giving out one of the awards.

Sat at the same table as keith who was totally coherent and he enjoyed conversing with him.

As soon as he had to go up and present the award...

Total change took place between the table and the stage

By the time he reached the mike gestures had changed, mumbling, slurred speech and the laugh had arrived.

Returned to table and back to the way he was before he left.

He said the transition was amazing and he reckoned keith would make a dam good actor.

Not everything is as it appears.

maxx, I read something similar and have been trying to find that again for a few months now. The one I remember wasn't an actor at an awards show, but it was a guy interviewing him. At least that is my memory of it. If you ever find it, can you please post it?

To answer this question properly you first have to define Evil and then you have to define Keith.

I think the first proposition might be easier! ..... but both are a lot of hard work........at least a PhD's worth!

Then you have to compare them to see if they are equivalent.

Do we really have to answer your question?

Anyway, I refuse to do so. Because I'm selfish and would rather get drunk.

Keith very often appears to be a parody of himself. I doubt if he has an evil bone in him and agree that he's probably quite shy. At Albany, the crowd did an extended "Keith, Keith" call and he seemed genuinely touched. He also interacts with individual fans while on stage. Mick, on the other hand, doesn't do that for even a second and is generally pretty mercenary and calculating.

cindy it stuck because he mentioned keith.

But where I heard it or saw it is lost on me.

Was guessing actor to be honest dont remember who he was.

I do wonder if he even drinks that much any more ?.

Very easy to hide how much vodka you are consuming when you mix it with orange.

Vodka is also very easy to water down so it appears you are pouring large amounts.

He comes accross to me as a gentleman and yes nicos I would say he is a bit shy.

I think he cannot be bothered with all the blood suckers that follow them around and if someone is being a tit then he will do or say something to shock them and hopefully shut them up.

It must be booring to always get asked the same questions over and over why not chuck something in the mix now and again, even if he does not they will just make it up anyway.

I think the only wicked thing about our keef is his sense of humour and some people just cant tell when he is being serious or taking the piss.

Very well said, maxx.

And I guess Keith feels more comfortable with a guitar between him & the audience.

Btw, how would anyone feel if you stood up from the table and everyone in the place starts applauding and shouting Keith, Keith - and you have to excuse yourself: I'm just going to the bog^^

My former boss saw him once of those semi-private lounges in an airport. I guess it's all free booze in there (or was at the time). My boss wanted some JD, and the bartender told him that Keith had the bottle, so my boss had to go up to him and ask for it. He watched him for a while (so he could report back to me) and said he drank A LOT! I hate that thought of him being an alcoholic, because it's a crappy life.

I'll try to verify that story tomorrow.

keef isnt evil, heroin is...

the alcoholic disease someone was speaking of has a street name and it is called WET BRAIN...keef doesnt have it, he would not be able to function on stage at all if he did...

he is shy and he is not nearly as much of a waste as some think he is...the watering down of the vodka is true...keef plays the role up in public because thats what the people want

in 'real life' he is a somewhat damaged, intelligent, sensitive, and loyal person who would throw himself in front of a train for his women, his children, and his band...

i used to think the same thing about mick until i was front row center at the aragon theater last tour and he was VERY interactive. after that, if he'd acknowledge me, it would be ever SO subtle. i must now say, for my last 5 shows on the tour, he's been very overt with waves or returning the kisses i blow or both (at RCMH) - however, keith who is usually overt, is now very sparing with it. i'm convinced that all of them, including charlie, are genuine kind, good people.

keith said in 03 -- the fog's great isn't it ! he's a persona as much as a person , he's a rocks star as well as a quiet grandfather, a man defined by his image almost 30 years out of date yet inspiring the newest guitar based music of the day

keith is like every good rock god , everything you need him to be

But this is an interesting discussion, see? OK, no hes not evil, he has that attitude and he has a bad temper and a big ego but is shy and emotional. Heroin made him stiff and booze makes him a bit sloppy. Interesting about that award. Maybe he thinks thats what people want? Or is it the shyness.
