Next show will feature Midnight Rambler which will shorten the set.

Regards, N. Damus

P.S. Which would you prefer? 20 songs with MR or 21 songs with Night Time? I think the latter. It's a unique feature of the tour.

They had problems with starting "Sympathy For The Devil" after coming back from the B-stage. After a break of two minutes or so they did "Paint It Black". Before that Charlie had done some "Rambler" noise on his drums. Then they did Sympathy after Paint It Black. Several technical problems. The screen did not work properly so they did only use the upper half. Bobby was not there so only 12 people on stage and Tim on the Brown Sugar solo.

And the promoter in Australia promised they would bring the ON STAGE real ABB stage but what they had in Sydney tonight was really the stage they used in South America. Still a great show and a good crowd. Not sold out but almost. Probably around 55,000 people.

This probably means that the "real" ABB Tour stage is on a boat somewhere between Japan and Europe

Dead Flowers is the only special treat, really. And a pretty fine treat, at that!

I found this setlist a dream one. Wish I could hear Dead Flowers in europe. Just missing Gimme Shelter. Would have dropped Missed You. But I like it

Well, the computer didn´t work? Play the intro with guitar and/or congas.

Only? Haha.

So, what to expect in Europe? Is the promotor responsable for what stage the stones bring along? I just can't believe they'll use the South America stage here in Europe. That's a reason to get your money back.

Report from The Australian

Rolling Stones deliver with a bang as big as ever
Iain Shedden, Music writer
April 12, 2006

YOU can't help but wonder if Mick Jagger did a deal with the devil at some point in his career.
Spitting out Jumpin Jack Flash as the Rolling Stones opened their show at Sydney's Telstra Stadium last night, the 62-year-old singer had as much spring in his step as when he first sang it almost 40 years ago.

Under a clear Sydney sky, the Stones made an explosive entry to the stage amid fireworks and pyrotechnics. In front of almost 60,000 fans, the band trawled their back catalogue, including crowd favourites such as Angie, Dead Flowers and Lets Spend the Night Together - the latter banned from their most recent performance, in Shanghai.

Sydney's morals may be less protected, but there was no sense of anarchy from the largely sedate audience in the early part of the show. However, Jagger and his colleagues raised the temperature and the mood when they kicked into another landmark song, It's Only Rock and Roll, with the frontman prowling a couple of hundred metres between one side of the stage and the other.

Meanwhile, guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood traded guitar licks and poses like they were going out of fashion.

This was the only Sydney performance in the Stones' short visit to Australia as part of their A Bigger Bang world tour.

A number of A- and B-list celebrities turned out for the performance including sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, both of whom are in Sydney for tonight's MTV music awards.

Also seen in the crowd were Eddie McGuire and members of rock band INXS, while Stones family members crouched in front of the stage to take in the show.

The massive A Bigger Bang production included a second B stage and a giant catwalk that allowed Jagger to do some of his customary prancing, to the delight of the crowd.

It was a slightly different mix of material from when the band was last in Australia three years ago on their 40 Licks world tour, which was performed in arenas rather than stadiums.

Also in the set were hits from the 1970s and 80s including Tumbling Dice, from what is considered one of their best albums, Exile on Main Street, and Miss You, with Jagger performing its tricky falsetto with ease.

The show moves to the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne tomorrow.

Another report.........

Stones rolling in again - By Warwick Stanley April 11, 2006

WHEN the Rolling Stones strutted the noisy boards of Sydney Showground's old Hordern Pavilion in 1965, It's All Over Now was one of the band's anthems.

Tonight, 41 years on, as wrinkles deepen and rheumatism sets in, the irony of the song title would not be lost on their thousands of ageing fans at Sydney's Telstra Stadium.

Some of them were among the screaming teeny boppers who had cheered on Mick, Keith, Brian, Charlie and Bill when they followed Roy Orbison and support bands onto the stage all those years ago.

As Roy and other rockers died, separated from their bands, moved on, or simply disappeared into a rock 'n' roll vortex, the Stones were never far from pop's frontline.

Perennially, it seemed, they put out a new album, organised an even bigger roadshow than the last or, as in the case of Mick and Charlie, turned up at Lords for the cricket.

And in interviews last week with the Channel 9's Ellen Fanning, the four modern-day Stones conceded they have no idea when it will all be over.

Ronnie Wood lauds Mick Jagger for running "between six and 10 miles" each night on stage, Keith Richards claims his gnarled, rheumatic fingers will not stop him playing guitar for years to come, and Charlie Watts says touring is a breeze when you've got your own plane and helpful staff.

Earlier this year, they performed a free concert in Rio De Janeiro to more than two million people, after last year playing to more than 1.2 million people on 42 dates as part of the A Bigger Bang World Tour.

Tonight, fresh from a Sunday night gig at China's Shanghai Grand Stage, the Stones showed 60,000 people at Sydney's Telstra Stadium how they just keep rolling on.

One of two Australian shows, the Down Under section of the Bigger Bang tour, was announced only in February after almost a year of speculation that the Stones were heading this way.

After Sydney, they play in front of 13,000 people at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena before going on to two dates in New Zealand, in Auckland and Wellington.

Following a one month break, the group will then tour Europe, starting in Barcelona on May 27.

The Stones last toured Australia in 2003 as part of their Forty Licks World Tour, playing concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

they'll use the North American one I would bet. It seems a far more complex looking beast and is hardly worth shipping all the way out to Oz for a couple of shows

Where do you get these kinds of info, good Erik?
Officially or from a secret source?
(Not that I doubt it.)

bv: Are you still following them along the Asian/Australian/NZ legs?
