Bernard Fowler has released his first solo album Friends With Privileges in Japan. Album has a funky feel...kinda reminds me of a Bernie Worrell album and includes Waddy Watchel...Ivan Neville...Doug Wimbish... Ronnie on two tracks and Lisa helping out on vocals....has a cover of Wild Horses and Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl.

Saw him in Chicago at the Tim Ries gig. Excellent.
PS: you should go to Tim Ries if you get the chance next summer: Barcelona, Paris,Amsterdam, London,...

Tim Ries' solo on Neighbours on Four Flicks has made me forever swear him off. so weak . . . (I think it was Tim)

touchez - loved Sonny's work (and Ernie's on the tour) on this, but Ries "blew" his chance (no pun intended)......

nice pun. i love how before the solo mick says "play the saxaphone" - it would be so great if mid-solo he said "I said play the saxaphone!!"

Ries has no business soloing in this band. He's a pure jazzer with no rock background. Makes no sense to me. the guys must like him, throwin' him a bone I guess....

When will he play in Barcelona? I'd certainly go there and see him - I'm there from the 25th till the 30th.

UI'll try to put a hand on Bernard's new record. Seems interesting, and the guy has a nice voice.
Anyone ever listened to the Nickelbag project ?
