Despite their advancing years, the Rolling Stones prove that today's young bands need to respect their elders.
Hordes of screaming fans desperate for glimpse or autograph of their ageing heroes turned out in Japan on the Asian leg of their tour, proving the Stones still draw a crowd unlike any other band.
The supergroup's arrival date at Narita airport, Tokyo, was supposed to be a closely guarded secret but somebody let it slip and the result was pandemonium.
It is nothing knew for Keith Richards, Ronny Wood, Charlie Watts and of course Mick Jagger but try telling that to the Japanese masses who sneaked past security to greet the band.
Tokyo is the latest leg of the sellout Bigger Bang World Tour and the band have a few days to soak up the atmosphere with the gig taking place next week.
