When was the last time Ronnie sung on stage with the guys? Back when he first joined the band how much did he sing with Mick and Keith?

just wondering.

Did he sing in '81? I do not remember, if he did that was the last time.

It's too bad it sounded cool back in the day.

as a matter of routine he has always shared Mick's mike on the chorus of @#$%& over the years...saw it personally at the 3rd '97 Oakland show....

I forgot about that one!

I was thinking back to '75/76 and '78 when you can
clearly hear him on a bunch of tunes--sounded cool and gave
the band another dimension. Actually back in those days he used to
sing on the records and I do not think that has happened in yrs.

in fairness, what little there ever was of a genuine "singing voice" has pretty much faded away....

I understand what you are saying and that is undoubtedly the case.

I listened to Undercover last nite and man, does Keith sound completely
different then he does now.

Ronnie was never a "great" singer but I always thought his voice was cool and very Rock and Roll--love the way he sounded on Nw Barabians and Gimme Some Neck--sort of similar to Dylan--which I believe he himself used to point out.

I was also there to witness that.

His singing on Gimme Some Neck is pretty good in a raspy rocknroll way. But chain-smoking cigs is a definite no-no for any singer.

He sang a lot more in his early years w/ the Stones, live & on record. Last time I could certainly hear him was Dirty Work, especially Too Rude w/ Keith & Jimmy Cliff. Yes, by the Bo Diddley tour his voice had lost a lot to the freebase but at his best he really chooses superb collaborators: Bobby Womack (always a great collaborator, from Sam Cooke to Wilson Pickett to Sly's Riot and Gabor Szabo) helped make "Now Look" a really fine album, the debut had Keith, Mick, & Rod, in '92-93 he had a strong tour with Bernard, who also joined him for those successful 2005 London shows.

mick holds the mic to him on IORR on the Bridges to Babylon DVD. It's Ronnie though, so you can't really hear him. (guitar or vocals! ha)

In "Lets Spend the Night Together" you see him sharing a mic with Keith a number of times.
Pretty cool.
Man, he sure looked happy in 1981!
