MACCA PLAYED A TOTAL OF 36 SONGS EVERY NIGHT ON HIS US 05 TOUR.
THE STONES STARTED OUT WITH 22 SONGS, AND NOW THEY JACKED US UP BY ELIMINATING 2 SONGS AND OMITTING BEAST OF BURDEN ALMOST ALL THE TIME.


COME ON!!!! WHY DO THEY HAVE TO PLAY EXACTLY FOR 2 HOURS???? WHY NOT PLAY 3 HOURS LIKE MACCA......

I agree shearer9, but there are points of compensation:

1. The Stones are allot better musically.

2. The Stones play better songs.

So it's actually not that bad.

PLAYING A MERE 2 HOUR SHOW

MACCA ON TEH OTHER HAND

PLAYS 36 SONGS

3 HOURS OF TRUE ROCK AND ROLL.....TRUE ROCK SHOW


DOESN'T SEEM TO RUSH THROUGH THE SONGS TO GET THE SHOW DONE.


SO......EITHER THE STONES GIVE THE FANS VALUE FOR MONEY.............OR PLAY BEAST OF BURDEN.

I agree Shearer9 but you have to remember one thing - MACCA is also a giant coke head so he can keep it rollin' for 3 + hours (why do you think he let some car commercial use his "FINE LINE' song to sell cars?) COKE MAN, the stuff is NOT CHEAP !!... LONG LIVE MACCA....

I must admit that I would not complain if the Stones decided to play 2 hours and half like they used to in 1989.

I don't think Keith want to do anything at all that Macca does. I think Keith would like to hit him with his guitar.

I would still rather see the stones by far, but you have to admit 36 songs is very very nice for the fans, imagine if the stones did 36 songs, we would be in our glory, we would get alot more RARE songs in the set and go home very happy

Shearer9 my friend why torturing yourself by being on this forum?I can't get it.I don't enter other forums to accuse another artist.I know I like the Stones and I am in this forum.If I liked Macca I would be in his fan's site.They should play a couple of more songs,but I don't get the comparisson.

His songs last 2 minutes, of course there are 36 of them! Macca should do 36 Midnight Ramblers!!!!!!!!!!!

Ferrante, I agree with you to some extent, but you must consider that Stones shows are much more physically demanding than Macca's. 25 songs would be a fair number, in my opinion.

Nicely said Cindy!! McCartney is behind his piano allot, and when he's not, he just stands still infront of his microphone. He and his band are not a rock show, they're a Beatles-coverband!!

what happened today ? was Shearer playing,didnt see him.it should have been 7 0 to United.

this is a good point,ironically a friend and i had a discussion on this the other day,we were talking how elton john did over 3 and a half hours at msg in september,like macca has done the last few tours.but you really have to look at the whole picture,granted macca and elton still rock(as the stones do)they play alot more ballads then the stones.also neither macca or elton move much either.thats not to put them down,its still remarkable that there voices can belt out the vocals for over 3 hours,but if they were running all over the stage like jagger,do you really think the shows would be 3 hours?i do agree that the stones should be playing 22 songs and feel they could handle the extra 2 songs with out much problem,that would allow the fans to hear gems rotated like new material(wont take long,let me down slow,streets of love,etc)and a rarely heard gem like dance little sister,she was hot ,or any classic long lost ballad,there are to many to name.bottom line ,they are about 15 minutes short of a perfect set list.

Of course it would be nice to be at a Stones concert, and finding out that they will play for 3-4 hours.
But if they did, you can be sure this would be their last tour ever. They would become REALLY bored of being a slave to the audience, and Mick would have a stroke.
Of course Elton John and Macca can play for 5 hours. They're just standing (or sitting) there. I'm sure Keith Richards can sit a play guitar all night, and the whole next day. But when they're on stage, they're really working out. The only movement Macca does, is to when he does the "look up to the sky"-look and shout "Whooooooo"(in She Loves You for instance)

Their tours tend to be a lot shorter too.

You know I do hate crapping on Paul (I also hate referring to him as Macca, I think that's pretty dumb, who came up with that one anyway?) How goes it? Recovering from your first week at work? I hope you took advantage of it and slept as late as you could.

Paul is no where near the front man Mick is you may get more songs from him but he does not run around like Mick if he did he would probably only do 14 songs per show.

BY THE WAY, THIS IS TRUE, BUT MICK DOESN'T JUMP AROUND AS MUCH AS HE DID IN THE PAST. AND YOU COULD TELL. I SAW THE STONES IN LA DURING THE LICKS TOUR, AND YOU COULD SEE THAT MICK WAS MUCH MORE ENERGETIC.


THIS TOUR, MICK JUST DOES NOT HAVE AS MUCH ENERGY AS HE DID ON THE LICKS TOUR.



MICK DOESN'T PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS, HE JUST SIGNS...AND DOES TAKE BREAKS AND A BIG BREAK WHEN KEITH SINGS HIS 2 SONGS.


MACCA PLAYS NON STOP. I AM SURE MICK AND PLAY JUMP FOR 2 HOURS, THEN FOR 1 HOUR SINGS SLOWER SONG....THAT WOULDN'T HURD WOULD IT?


PERHAPS DO JUMP AND JACK DURING THE FIRST 2 HORUS AND DO THE ANGIES DURING THE LAST HOUR OF THE SHOW.

MACCA GIVES VALUE FOR MONEY....THAT'S WHAT FANS LIKE......THEY PAY A LOT FOR TICKETS, SO AT LEAST THEY HAVE TO GET SOME VALUE.

THE STONES NOTHING....NO BEAST OF BURDEN, AND ONLY 20 SONGS......AND SOMETIMES THEY ONLY GIVE 18 SONGS!!!!!!!
