Just wondering what the general opinion of trio's are here? Obviously they lack the dual guitar attack that the Stones have, but they can still be tight and full of energy (see Cream). I only ask because right now I'm in a band with 2 guitars, drums and bass (I'm on one of the guitars and I sing), but we find we sound better and more tight when its only me, drums, and bass. It's not just the other guitar player - we have played with alot but we just dont have the same chemistry. So yeah, just wondering the opinion.
Most powerful rock is played by trios. Like many suggests with some extra: Jim Hendrix Expereience Old Skyhigh Kenny Håkansson Band Cream. Police. Rockman´s suggestion on Elvis...
It can sound pretty stupid, but if you consider as trio a band formed by guitar-bass-drums plus somebody singing, just as Deuce's initial question reveals, would you consider Led Zeppelin as four-member-trio??? I mean, what would be the difference between Cream or the JHExperience and Led Zep instrument-wise??
