Hey JuanTHC,
I'm hoping the shelf life is an eternity, because right now it looks like I'll be munching on sardines, smoked oysters, and some really old cranberry sauce if we ever have a lengthy black out. I think of them as my back up, just in case the armageddon comes.

Hey WMiller, I raided the last of the vienna sausages last week when I had a bad case of the munchies after smoking a large (lets say bubble gum) cigar. I'm hoping for a short armageddon now.

I busted out a tin of smoked oysters last summer - I figured they'd be good with some beer in front of the TV watching baseball.

I ate about 6 and was driving the porcelain bus by the third inning.

Kippered snacks, on the other hand, rock.

I ate octopus at a pub some years ago, after about 12 beers. Actually it didn't taste either good or bad. (what a surprise)
I wouldn't dare trying oyster, at least after Juan's story.

Eat 'em raw or fried, Erik - they're fine that way.

Hold off on the tinned ones until the apocalypse arrives.

I have had alligator meat down in New Orleans as well. I even bought some and grilled it at home for a picnic one day. Kind of fishy tasting.

The alligator sausages are even better.

I bought a can of sardines yesterday (skinless, boneless) in olive oil and ate those puppies with some fresh french bread. Man was that good. The can said product of Morocco.

Eric, the whale is a sacred animal in the US. You better watch Star Trek "The voyage home" movie.

Crab legs and shrimp are a big deal in the Chinese buffets. As are mussells and clams. All you can eat for $7.99 per person.

Lukester come out of the fish closet, I know there is a sardine man in there.

The Sicilian, I know about how Amercans view killing whale.
As long as only a small percentage are killed, I don't see the problem. We're not allowed to export it, just eat it ourselves. So, not many are being killed. I don't see what's bad about eating them, though. It's not good to kill ANY animal, but it's not THAT bad either. Their brain is very little (on the whale). The only bad whale-killing things I've seen are the propoganda-movies from Greenpeace. In reality, it's not animal-cruelty at all.
But, I wouldn't kill a whale, I don't kill elks either. Never have. But I eat 'em if they're on the table.

Yup, the barbarian Norsemen eat whale. So do I;
I´m 25% Norweigan & that part always craves whale.
Seriously the whale brands they pick up aint the extint-threatened ones.

In the beef form it tastes like a T-bone. No kiddin.

Hey BaboonBro,

By any chance do you have the live version of Chuck Berry's "My Ding a Ling" to post? You can hear the classic riff that Keith uses in it.

Listen to it right now, but cant hear much riff in it.
Wont post any official Berry material here though.
But I hear Keith in almost every Beery tune...
I would encourage everybody that doesnt own hail! Hail! to get it,
or wait for the reedited dvd!

Richards, Berry & Johnson together is, at times, the ultimate rock experience.
Not to mention roll...

Is the live version is the only version of the song that exists?

I remember hearing the riff after the chorus "my ding a ling" da da da?
