I agree neither Bill or Mick Taylor will ever be back with them. But lets get one thing clear Mick Taylor is not never has or never will be better then Ron Wood.

It won't happen but they should consider it. I like DJ but (for the stones) business is business, so bring on Bill. They would sell out even the Arena in a minute.

I have a great band right now, packing in over a million people in Rio... is Wyman going to add to that ??

Also, it makes the Stones look "unstable", like they are a bunch of replaceable parts...

The ONLY CONDITION I would do this is if I absolutely was convinced that it would be the last tour.

Let's put it this way : if the Stones re-hire BW under those condition, it is like they officially state it's the last tour. As they have pledge a million time they would never do this kind of statement, the odds are even slimer now they invite BW. What a pity.

BW should not demand so stuipd terms. He wants to play, let's him play. But he does not have to ask to others in the band : THIS HAS TO BE THE ULTIMATE TOUR. DISMISS !

I don't think it will happen. I don't know if the band (Keith) would let that happen. I mean what's the point. Maybe if he wanted to get back to do one more album and then an entire tour, maybe they would take that under consideration if he was really up to it but still, I don't know if Bill would really want that...

And this whole thread has been triggered off by that goggle eyed twit of an afternoon BBC Radio 2 DJ ? But it has been interesting reading nevertheless. I must say, I'd quite like the idea of seeing Bill up there with them again, but the question is ....... where/when/a one off/a whole tour/under what circumstances ? I think all those sorts of issues would be SO difficult for them to sort out between them, so that not only THEY the Stones would be comfortable with it - but so too would WE the public and the fans be. In that respect, I just can't see them ever being able to work it out.

When asked about whether there have been moves from the Stones to get him back in the band. he says "I've had casual, through the grapevine, remarks like 'If youre not doing anything next year, maybe theres a job for you" but that "up to now, I've not had the slightest inclinatin to say "yeah, maybe.." as 'it would mean taking on all that baggage again.

He ruled out anything "on a grand scale" regarding "one final tour", as he doesnt fly any longer, but says "if they asked me to tour England, I'd have to think about it. Not least because the fans would like it. I've always thought that one final goodbye Stones tour might be a good idea. If they asked me to do something like that, well yeah, I probably would.."

Its only a one page interview, but its quite a good one. he describes Charlie as "one of my closest mates. I still see him 3 times a week. he sends me the best Christmas presents - Bronze Age swords, medieval daggers..what do I get from the others? Well, Mick will send me an orchid plant or something like that. Keith semds me the same thing every year - a candle!"

Well there you have it, Gazza. You, me & Bill at Wembley in August. That seems perfectly settled to me now....

Only if its a 'farewell' tour though!

They already sell out areanas and stadiums they don't need bill to do that.

$$$$$$$$ the only way jagger would ever agree to let bill back is if he worked for less than d.jones...ha..

This could be great news. I'd love to see Bill Wyman back on stage with the Stones even if it's only in Europe or on a limited basis.

What Bill exactly ment was that he might play a very last time with the Stones for a certain gig, i.e. the very last gig ever. Their would be no return even while they are asking him every tour to come back.

To be honest I love to watch him playing relaxed in small clubs having fun with some great musicians who know where to hit the notes ;-) (sorry, couldn't resist)

He obviously needs the money.

Let's assume that it is to happen.
In that case I wonder if it is even a good idea. What the Stones call "rehearsals" these days seem more like just naking sure that all millionaires are in the room at once, and all cellphones are turned off. The thing about Wyman was all about chemistry. A very fragile thing. They'd have to seriously jam, really work out and groove to even benefit from Wyman being back. because as is right now, the band would actually sounbd worse with Wyman. They're not used to having a loose bassist who doesn't carry the bottom.
In a way Wyman is playing music now that is closer to the "old" Stonesmusic in spirit than the Stones themselves.

You know, the Stones still jam (privately) with Wyman from time to time. Wyman said it in an interview.

The fact that Taylor played with them in Kansas 1981 doesn't mean he'll ever play with them again. It just proves my point - it was utterly forgettable from a musical standpoint, but people still go on and on about it and act like it was the second coming or something. The same thing would happen if he played with them again, which is why they will never allow it.
