In 1965 or so, when I was about 12, my schoolmates and I were at JFK airport to sell candybars to raise money for my grade school. We were in an empty corridor when four guys, followed by a fifth (Mick), emerged from a BOAC lounge and headed down the corridor towards us. We hit on the first four. I had Charlie, who stopped to examine the bar but did not buy. I then tried selling to Mick.He also stopped to look it over but said he was short on cash. We did not sell a single candy bar to them.

They seemed vaguely familiar but we did not quite realize who they were until they had moved on and a huge mob of screaming girls descended upon us, looking for the stones. "Of course, that's who they are", we realized!!!!

Unfortunately, none of the girls saw the stones handling our candy bars, so we did not sell any of our "touched by a stone" candy bars to them either.

I am no longer in retail sales.

Beelyboy, You should most certainly contradict me and my bullshit theories when applicable. They're often based on nothing but own vast generalizations.

Anyway, nobody commented on my cool Keith picture on page 3! I will not be IGNORED! (that's my Fatal Attraction impression, in case it didn't come across)

Cindy, darling, both of the photos are great. I'm still trying to figure out how you took the photo of Keith in the crowd and still managed to get yourself in the photo, too, you fatally attractive girl, you. Because it also looks like your left hand is in the photo.

Nope, that's not me in the picture. It is one of those guys I guess.

I didn't think so, certainly not the one with the moustache.

Yeah, I'm not really digging his porn-stache too much. I think he looks more like a "Randy".

I feel genuine concern for Keith when I look at that photo. Christ, did security not notice this guy?

They were too busy looking at the idiot kissing Keith on the back. But it's all good, I'm little, but no one messes with my guy.

Ta2you liked my idea so much he decided to continue it. Please remember this is the one and only Original "Encounters" question for March, 2006. Do not be fooled by immitators.... (actually I could give a sh*t but ta2, you could have AT LEAST changed the wording around a bit more - I'm sure the questions not new but I never saw it before) "The lines around my eyes / are protected by a copyright law"......(West Coast Promo Man)

Isn't that lyric from Doncha Bother Me, not West Coast Promo Man

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Hey Beelyboy - I'm glad you liked it. It really was more awesome than I could probably ever describe. And when I ever developed the pictures and saw that one of him smiling... Wow! I must've had my Lucky Charms that day. Unreal.

Thanks alot Cindy! You're an angel!! I love your stories but I was wondering how you get into these events, do you have a " connection"? Always great to have someone you know opening doors! I gather Keith is your Main mAn!! Did you ever post a photo of you with Keith? If you did, could you post it again?

Hey Debra, darling. It's nice to see your 1982 photo again. You look so happy and pretty I might add. And, I've seen a couple of photos of CindyC with Keith and another one of her wearing his scarf or poncho or something. She'll have to post them again. My favorite though may be the one of her and Ian McClagan (splelling?) of Faces. And as for your comments over on the Jerry Hall thread, I'm just not comfortable making fun of ol' Jerry, but hey, you go girl. I'm still laughing about your horse teeth comment.

High CindyC,
your report is quite interesting.
About the kissing: I kissed my heroes too,
thats an action of love, I guess.
I remember even kissing originalpaintings /NOT pictures/ of my
favourit painters - esp in museums, when nobody was looking.

Hi Debra,
I posted a couple on the infamous "post a pic" thread", here's a link.

[iorr.org]

As for how I got in to those things, I was working for EMI Music when Virgin signed the Stones, then we bought Virgin, so all was right in the world. I didn't have much to do with music though, I was in the Strategy & Planning group, but my boyfriend at the time, was a big-whig there so he got me in to the Songwriters HOF thing. I got to go to the Grammy's with him too once.

Working for EMI at that time was great, because the Stones toured with Voodoo Lounge, and I got to go to about 6 of the shows for free and had great seats, plus Keith also toured with Main Offender, so I got to go to all those NY shows plus the Boston ones, and got into the after party where I had this picture taken.

One of the coolest things I ever got to do though was when we used to travel to London, EMI owns the Abbey Road studios, so I used to get to go in there, plus there were the Abbey Road flats right next door and I would stay there. I have no idea if the Beatles stayed there, but I would guess they did. Fans would be standing outside trying to get a peek in, it was pretty cool. I love London! Another neat thing, was that our Manchester Square office building was where the Beatles shot those photos with the rectangular staircase that's on their Red & Blue greatest hits album. I'm a pretty big Beatles fans too so all that meant a lot to me.

CindyC, that's so cool. I would LOVE to go to Abbey Road Studios and just stand in Studio 2 (I believe that's were most of the Beatles music was recorded) and think of all the great work that was recorded in that one room and walk around slowly checking it out - I'm sure it's remodeled but who cares. It's still THE ROOM. 4 musicians, one studio, and the whole world was being changed (and Studio 2 is ground zero) Man that would be THE BEST !! You're lucky to have been in there. VERY cool story....
