I remember a Keith interview from the 90s. He said something like "I can be very mean, and so can John Lydon......Oasis are just obnoxious..." Lydon is very cool. It's hillarious that TVshow from 77 where they swear so badly. Have you seen it? The interviewer was fired the next day.

Yeah Erik......that tv show publicity was the best they ever got........put 'em all over the front of English newpapers........."The Filth & the Fury" headlines.........Bill Grundy was the drunken host and was given a taste by a drunken pilled-out Steve Jones
Here's the link to the rollingstone.com article about this: [www.rollingstone.com]
Did anybody see the Pistols back in the day? Must have been quite an experience! For that matter, I'm curious how their reunion tour a few years ago went.
To watch that slob Grundy flirt w/Souixie and seeing Jones and Lydon getting pissed was CLASSIC tv! Their full statement regarding the Hall is on their web site, it's gREAT! I do wish the Stones would have done this! Really love when Kieth was asked if he calls Mick "Sir Mick" and he says " No, he has all kinds of other names to call him". Sometimes the boys are just a little too corporate.

I think it was in 1996. Didn't think too much of Lydon's singing. And Steve's guitar had some kind of overdrive that belongs in heavy-metal-music. So I didn't like it. BTW, I did not see them live but I've heard some bootlegs + the official CD.

I've always meant to get that CD, but from what you say it doesn't sound so great so I think I'll give it a pass. Thanks!

ohno.......i regret not going to the Winterland show....it's only a 5 hour drive from here.....i do know a couple of gals who saw them in '78.....one at the Winterland show....and the other in San Antonio.........and for those interested....the best live Pistols document is "Live at the '76 club"...with Matlock on bass....they were a well-rehearsed and powerful band then....before Sid came along (the beggining of the end)

Perhaps it was a good thing that you didn't go. Sid might had slug you with his bass! I know a guy, who saw Pistols in Trondheim 1977 (for real, I've even seen pictures he took). He spitted at them, because he read that it was supposed to be like that. And the Pistols spitted back, and drank whiskey, and spitted more when their mouth was dry.

Thank you Leonard, but I think I got it allready. There are some semi offical CDs from 76 I've got, with no information about where it is recorded. Good chance that it is the same show.
By the way, Leonard, I'm having some troubles with my PC, and I'm waiting for a "repair-man". My printer doesn't work nowadays. That's why I still haven't sent the letter to you. Hopefully by the end of the week.

i love the pistols and love their response but one comment in the statement is that the hall of fame judges are music industry people, which isn't the case. i met of the the judges at a party in brooklyn last year and his regular job is not affiliated with the music/record industry. he's just a regular joe.
