I know it is Purely Rolling Stones's site. But still anyway Do you think that THE WHO'S upcomming album will be a massive hit.For me they will miss Entwistle.

The tour will be great, the album a bonus. You will see it always has been the PT show. The other 3 members were all outstanding, but it was Pete's writing and playing that put them in a class by themselves.

If Roger has been watching Mick at all he better lay off the cigars and start doing some low impact aerobics.

Pino can play all of John's licks.

No matter what the album is like, it wil be a disappointment. How can it live up to 25 years of anticipation. The last 10 years alone every other year was hyped like it would come out soon , then nothing. it will fail miserably to live up to the Who standards.

The Who finally died with John Entwistle.

So if there was a guy out there who can play Keith´s style
you would accept a replacement instead of a quit?

I will tell you want you want to hear, I would always pay to see Mick. Would they be as be as good as before, no. Still worth seeing and better than staying home and watching TV, yes.

John was a fine musician and the best bass player the world has seen, but not co-writer of all their songs the way Keith is, so yours isn't a very good analogy.

A better analogy would be, would you see the Stones without Taylor, Jones, or Wyman? Each excellent in their own right, but replaceable if necessary. Taylor may have been techically more proficient than even Entwhistle.

Ok, let's play, if they want. But why under the name WHO? It's not correct. And not necessary. I for example would go to a PT concert too.

Having purchased a ticket for both Liverpool nights this`ll be the first time I`ll see the band without John Entwistle.

On the evidence of soundboard CDs from the last tour Pino, the bassist, is pretty low in the mix.

The emphasis is more on PT`s guitar.

Looking forward to both gigs in July.....

Then back home to Glasgow for the Stones at Hampden in August.

If they come to a place near me I'll go for sure. They simply smoked the Live8 concert. Nobody was better.

There was another thread on this a few days ago. At the risk of repeating myself ...

I think it's still The Who without Moon and Entwistle. They are missed, but Pete and Roger were always the most important members of the band. Pete wrote the vast majority of the songs, played all the guitar and did a lot of singing. Roger was the frontman and the lead vocalist. These guys are way more important than the rhythm section, great tho they were.

If Townshend and Daltrey were dead, there's no way Moon and Entwistle could pull off touring as The Who without them. But the opposite is not true in my opinion.

Well said!................

If a similar thing had happened to the Stones I`m sure a Jagger/Richards tour would be billed as the Rolling Stones.

Having said that..........I know somrbody will mention Page and Plant.

Was ABB a massive hit? It wasn't. Same will happen with The Who's. Both will be enjoyable the same. One more for the road..
