UK Tickets from Ticketmaster

Anyone got any idea when the UK tickets are gonna be sent out-normally I know not to expect them from Ticketmaster until about 2 hours before the gig(!), but I went to the show at MSG then straight to Australia for 3 weeks, so I wondered if anyone had heard anything.

If they live up to their usual ... then what you say is pretty much what is likely to happen. You won't receive them until worryingly close to show day. It's bad enough if you live in the UK and are eagerly waiting for your tickets for UK shows to arrive through your letterbox, but if you are on the move/travelling/flying in from another country and have left home several days before the show - it is really bad news. I just don't understand why Ticketmaster leaves it SO late to mail tickets out. I'm going to nice for example, I already have the tickets in hand; ticketnet.fr sent them out once I'd responded to their e-mail to verify my credentials with a scanned copy of ID asnd the credit card used to purchase the tickets. Why the hell can't TM be equally efficient; it's beyond my comprehension ?

You both forgot to mention the inevitable cock-up that will once again ensue with incorrect seat numbers, involving having to send them back to the promoter.

To pass them on to friends, sell them on if no longer required, change of address etc.

also I reckon given the ripoff service charges you shouldn't have to wait 6 months to get tix you paid for before Christmas...and I'm sure this has been covered on this board endlessly but it's still a fair point

pass them on outside at a designated meeting place/pub before the show.sell them ditto,or get yourself sorted out and just buy tickets you need.

change of address ????????????...............STOP IT

why would you pay 150 quid for a ticket you dont need by the way ?

Only ticketmaster in the uk seems to have this problem.

I have received tickets in the past from TM the day before we were flying to London and only 4 days before a concert & I am in the UK .

I think you can contact them and ask to pick them up in London ??.

I too have tickets for europe in hand.

If you want to swop UK tickets for shows in europe you are scunnerd as you wont have them so the option of meeting outside the venue in say Berlin wont work unless person you swop with is V trusting that you will meet them again in the UK with their ticket.

If the idea is to stop the touts well it does not, as they are for sale on ebay and have been since minutes after the presale started.

Last stones tour if I remember correctly I think they came approx 10/12 days before the concert.

well youve no chance of getting anything for the Wembley shows for some time as

a) the stadium hasnt been built and the seating plans are unconfirmed

and

b) its not confirmed yet that the shows will take place on the scheduled dates

May 1998 would have perfectly ok as the shows were meant to be August, but were postponed on 8th June 1998

Agree with remarks about their ineptitude. I could write a book on the screw-ups they made on the ticket distributions for the Licks shows (my favourite was their inability to grasp the concept that people who had bought tickets for the Astoria might also be going to the Twickenham shows a few days earlier - so they sent out the pick up notice for Astoria tickets to overseas fans just a week before the show - arriving AFTER most of them had already departed for London - even though they had the same people on their database as having bought tickets for the other shows)

You just don't get it, do you billy ? Get a grip will ya ? Get it through yer noddle that some people ain't gonna conveniently sittin' at home waiting for TM to casually drop their Stones tix through their letterboxes at THEIR convenience - which is usually pretty bloody close to show day ? How about recognizing the fact that some folk might just be on the move, they might well be travelling for a week, or God forbid .......... even a COUPLE of weeks ....... before arriving in the city in which they're intending to see the Stones. A fat lot of bloody good it's gonna do 'em if their Stones tickets turn up at home long after they've left. The thread was started for a perfectly understandable reason; namely that TM DO exhibit this annoying habit of sending tickets out obscenely late in the day. It might serve lots of folk perfectly adequately, but it evidently does not serve EVERYBODY well. And if YOU were one of the probable minority that TM's modus operandus does NOT serve well, you sure as hell would be singin' a different tune.

How about a little less sarcasm and one more turn on the ratchet just to make sure the old thinkin' cap is firmly screwed on ? If you don't mind my saying so, you're talking absolute bollocks !!

Fair enough. Proceed with talking further bollocks in that case, if you so desire. I'd have to agree re insults, they have little if any place on a discussion board.
