Did any of you who attended any concert of the Stones so far had any problems by taking your photographic camera unside the concert??I know that nearly every single concert is recorded in audio , if not in video, but even like that , if they "catch " you with an camera what can they do??
I want to take as many pictures as them as possible, starting in Barcelona!
can anyone share their experiences regarding this from previous concerts!

As I recall, they're not very strict in Europe, but in the States there are varying degrees of security. Most places only do a cursory check, but there are some that give you a pretty thorough scan.

In previous years, I have had to sneak a camera in. This year in the US, I was not searched even once. Maybe they realize that digital cameras and phones are so small, so they have given up?

They were ridiculously strict about it in Europe 2003.

AT MSG in NYC they were not tough at all and we all took photos with phones all the way through, plus there seemed to be hundreds of flashes going off. However my friend definitely tells me he had a camera removed from him a few years back at a Keith gig (New Barbarians or Wino's I'm not sure)

I guess it's a case of be discreet and not too blatant as you enter and then once you're in the venue why not wait until the last 30 minutes then go crazy - by then no-one's going to care!

I got picked out the crowd at Wembley Arena in 2003. They were obviously monitoring where the flashes were coming from. They took the memory card and batteries.

I was at the Moncton NB & the Toronto show's in Canada. No still camera's were alowed unless they were dissposable cameras. I took my pictures with a disposable. They turned out great! Just try noy to shake & use both hands to hold it! Oh & try to get close. hehe!

Ive never had trouble getting any of my gear in, but then again its all very stealthy. I've survived severe pat-downs and metal detectors.

Hide your camera in a strategic place and make sure to get in the line where a person of the opposite sex does the searching. I had no problem getting it inside during the Montreal show, while they were clearly searching for cameras.

And a note to Valeswood: You don't need a flash for the light. You only need it, with an automatic camera, to make sure that the shutter doesn't stay open too long. I cover the flash with my finger or tape it with a little piece of black electrical tape, works perfect and no one sees the flash.

Thanks for all the tips so far!!
But to "they" make any distinction between professional cameras and "amateur" cameras??

From what I have seen in the past no.

If you get a jobsworth on the gates or watching the audience then they will take it from you.

I personally don`t bother with a camera as I feel it detracts from my enjoyment of the evening.

My oh however does take one and is nearly always searched, he now takes 2
1 old one & makes it easy to find and the other he hides.

once they find one they don`t seem to look further.

Funny thing I have never been searched even when I have a bag of stuff with me they just wave me on He He.

Never had a problem with getting a camera in any Stones or other concert in the US ever, even if they have seen them in my bag, they just pretend like they don't and give a wink and on I go to enjoy my show. Never use the flash either if you're using the disposable cams.

I have always taken a ton of photos but I go to extreme lengths to hid it in my purse! I have been hassled alot on this tour, in Albany especially by a real @#$%& guard but I took my camera out again during the encore and shot 22 awesme shots, really close! In Philly I got lucky and shot 160 pictures over 2 nights and they are incredible. In Hartford, I always get hassled and even had to be careful at Rentchler Field! For God's Sakes, it's a FOOTBALL STADIUM! I have a secret method of getting the 35mm in to ALL venues but even in Boston last month, when the guards saw my flash they hassled me so I put it away until the end! JERKS! Just once I would love to have a professional camera with a HUGE lens and permission to shoot all I want!
