By the way my sister was good-looking (so was Mick).

She's not near Mick's equal in stage presence or showmanship (show womanship?), but Chrissie Hynde is near Mick's equal as far as having a really cool rock 'n' roll persona and look.

I saw Chrissie twice when she opened for the Stones and I was bored stiff.

Really? I think the Pretenders are great live. I saw them a bunch of times in Chicago including opening for the Stones. The lineup since '94 is good. Before that if you didn't catch them before '83, then that would be bad .

ah, Madonna. . . .probably, isn't quite the rock icon, certainly not the song writer (has she even written anything on her own?) can't hold a candle to Mick, but as gals go in the rock/pop biz, yeah, she's up there, pretty nasty, provocative, sexy, and all that. . . . The more I re-read this thread, I probably should have re-worded the question 'who is the female equivelent to Mick' rather than his equal, there's no equal male or female. . .rather, who on the other side is the counter-Mick, I think we're hearing probably the. . .Madonna. . .not Mick's equal but who's sort of that top showman, kick-it-in-the-ass performer in the rock/pop world - female? Note I said 'rock' - stay away from the Mariahs, Whitneys and all that fluff, Madonna, Tina - any other female true rock gals. . .??? Maybe there's none??

As far as the attitude and the impact Madonna is the only one who comes close. In her own way she is almost as androgynous as Jagger. A woman who is androgynous is going to come across very differently than a man who is. But she and he have sort of done similar things in their respective roles. Tina would be an obvious choice but she has not had nearly the same impact as Jagger or Madonna.
But to me persoanlly who reminds me the most of Jagger is Pink. That is one tough chick.
