1978 Some girls, the 'Respectable' video coming on TV..listening to Mick on Radio talking about Kieths possible jail sentence etc - great year and the Stones were one of the few bands who could take my focus off of the Punk rock scene.
I'll have to agree with Potted Shrimp and say 1972 and it was indeed the tour behind their BEST album! It was my virgin year too so it holds special significance and I can tell you, the excitement level that summer of '72 was explosive at my house! The first time I ever saw the Stones live was July of '72 in Boston and it seemed the Stones were on every magazine cover, every tv show from Cavitt to late night news, and every celeb wanted to be photographed with them! The Toast of Every Town they certainly were! My second favorite was the '75 tour, it had the same excitement level, in my home and the nation!
For me, '89 because that's the first time that I saw them and for the Stones musically, it would have to be '68. The Jumpin' Jack Flash single and Beggars Banquet were the start of some really great rock 'n' roll by this band IMO.
