some of them have Down the Road Apiece and some of them don't; one of them has Mona.
(you can check out all the set lists on nzentgraf: [www.nzentgraf.de] - choose 1981 and then look for what you need.)

thanks for that link ! ive got a few already from 81 but the setlists are more or less the same.would be handy if there were whole show plus filler CDs available when the sets are more or less standard.

yeah - nice reminder! the "digital revolution" has made it real easy to acquire more more more, but no one is supposed to hear *all* the shows from a tour.
on the other hand, every show is a unique handcrafted item; me i'm putting together a disk of 18 renditions of Little T&A. no two alike! :E

ive got a double cd of 20 "Every Grain of Sand"s by Bob Dylan.but most of them really are different !played over a 20 year plus timespan.including the 1984 version with Mick Taylor playing some nice guitar.

looks like one concert and a handful of other songs will suffice from this year.

What'd be great is to have an article somewwhere with all the shows recordings ansd details (missing songs, cuts, Mono or Stereo info etc.)

I am among the people who won't DL all the 81 shows, but would be sure to have the must-haves, because of the sound, the setlist, the interpretation etc.

Wow Billy, I checked out that link. Now that is what the Stones could and should do. They easily have as many bigtime hits as that. Dylan fashions one flowing show after another, without repeating himself. Stones could do that too; would be so much more interesting for many of us; maybe for them too.
I wish I had seen Dylan with that band. Petty had really quietly put to gether one of the toughest real rockin bands around.

at the two dublin shows last november only two songs were repeated.highway 61 revisited and all along the watchtower.

earlier that week i saw my 108th dylan show at brixton.he played 4 songs id never heard before, including 3 for the first time ever.

as much as i love the stones they have played half a dozen odd songs at every show ive been to over more than thirty years, and the way things are going i will hear them again later this year.

if dylan plays 2 nights at a venue you get 2 different shows.if he plays 3 you get 3 different.

in fact they played EIGHT songs at the last show i attended that were played the first time i saw them.

TEN songs were played at the rio show the other night that i saw at that first show.

18 Little T & A's, with soul I presume, reminds me of A Dylan-tragic friend of mine who has over 100 versions of Dylan doing Desolation Row.

Dylan is unique.
It helps been able to change your band every few years. Ditto Macca (although not in the same league as Bob!)

The Stones are the Stones

another thing is at dylan shows you dont get any "oh yeah" "well alright" and "oh baby" shouts between every song.in fact all you get is the songs.bob is well over sixty years old you see,and acts accordingly.

"is everybody having a good time"

they should be theyve just done 150 sovs in cold blood..........

Hey billy...I love the Dylan shows, too. I love trying to anticipate what nuggets will we hear tonight? He aint known for interacting much with the crowd so when he does it's magical. I'm sure you could tell some stories.

They would have to pay me 100 quid to go to Dylan. Don't they have a board for you to extoll his virtues somewhere else?

I read that in 1987 or was it 1989, Dylan only spoke once during the whole tour. It was "Shalom". I don't know if it's true, I haven't got that many bootlegs from those tours....

Re: 1981 Soundboards

Actually, it hasn't been released yet, but it will be soon.

Erik I saw him during both tours and I'm pretty sure he introduced the band both times. I could be mistaken.

It seems like a legend, I know.
Anyways, I can't remember which year it was, early 90's perhaps.
I bet it's not entirely true, but I think it is close.
I wish Billy could give some information, he seems to know a lot.

Hampton 81 is posted in Buy/Sell/Trade page 3. Both CD's 1 and 2. They sound excellent especially Imagination.

Better hurry it expires soon. The posters name was removed from the post last I looked.

Well, the question was about the 2nd Hampton, the next day.
