Amager. About 600 m from Christiania and Christianshavn. 900 m from Parliament and city centre. 1200 m from Nyhavn - and that's just one of many places where the bars are much better than the one at home :

And here's just another kitschy picture of Copenhagen city centre ( as it always looks ) :

Here is where I live, Sopot, Poland. It is a famous summer resort.
The first three photos are of the hotels the Stones could stay at if they come to Sopot.

No baboon bro, but I had troubles and it doubled.
It's still me and my wife.
Anyway those Poland pictures are also very nice. You see there are just to many places to travel besides looking for the Stones.

Here's some more, hope not too many.
Anyway as You can see we also do get some big concerts, guess whose, we also have a skiing hill.
In the summer the city is full of beautiful girls in miniskirts (probably handsome guys too, not in miniskirts thoughsmiling smiley)
So why not come here for a couple of days? It is still pretty cheap for people from Western Europe and the USA, not to mention other expensive countries.

Adams, I once had a dinner at Grand Hotel in Sopot. Many many years ago. Now it's closed for renovation. Very nice hotel. Beautiful place, Sopot. And neighbour to interesting historic Hansa - and Solidarnosc - town, Gdansk.

Baboon Bro, Copenhagen does look like this...one or two seconds every summer. And you know that I sometimes see those Gassers ( not Kim Larsen however ) in the local supermarket.

Oh, so You have been to Sopot, It has probably changed a lot since You were here,
probably not too many things on the menu at the time You ate there, if it was in the eighties?smiling smiley
Lots of clubs and restaurants opened. Did You go to any night club when You were in Sopot? There was this club I remember where I used to go to play pinball (as a kid) in my neighbourhood called Afrodyta. I live about 300 meters from where it was.
Grand Hotel is supposed to be open in June, at least some parts of it.

Gdansk is beautiful too, 1000 years of history, only 25 minutes by a commuter train, I work in Gdansk.
It is also nice to visit Gdynia in the summer, a bit small but a modern city.

No night club visits, Adams. And yes, the menu was a bit poor in 1988. I was at the Jazz Jantar together with Jazz Friends ( : Walk Away - they still exist, I think ).
That was quite eventful however till early in the morning. Even did an interview for Trójka. My few minutes of fame in Poland smiling smiley

I am not sure about Walk Away, haven't heard of them for a long time.
We have a new jazz festival here. It is called SKOK Jazz Festival, last year we had Branford Marsalis to mention the most famous one. Lots of jazz concerts each month actually. I frequently go to a club called Spatif where they organize a classy jazz concert each month. There is also a nice festival in August in Gdansk, it takes place in a small theatre in the middle of a forrest (Teatr Lesny). Last year I saw Michal Urbaniak there. You can also take Your own beer and snacks which completes the experience of greatnesssmiling smiley

Jazz Jantar still exists too, last year it was organized in a students club Zak in Gdansk.

Yeah, do come along, jagger50. My home is humble, but the city...well, you know. I work in a bookshop at the old "Kommunehospitalet" at Øster Farimagsgade - now it's a part of the University. No good for tømmermænd anymore smiling smiley

Adams, I'm so sorry they closed the ferry from Copenhagen to Gdansk. But perhaps we meet in Warsaw ? I finally got the FOS-tickets....

Allright No Nervous Breakdowns, I am thinking of an after show party in Warsaw. I guess many people might come. I have FOS 1A. At the moment they are not selling FOS anymore but they might. I guess it is always like that.

I didn't know the ferry was canceled, there might be one from Szczecin or Swinoujscie though. Luckily we do get more and more cheap flights but You have to book a ticket at least 3 months in advance. Sometimes it is just easier to travel by coach.

Re: Local pic - post here

I hope you arrange a PRE-party in Warsaw as well smiling smiley, because we have to be early at Okecie : "Before the devil puts on his shoes" as we say in Denmark....anyway, let's see. ( Yeah, there are a ferry to Swinoujscie, but now I'm too old for driving Polish roads...).
I go to bed too, jagger50. Jeg skal nok maile til dig.

The other day I was looking out my kitchen window. I saw this peregrine falcon perched on a branch. I grabbed my camera and took this picture.
A falcon sighting in Chicago is a rare occurance. (I live a block from Lake Michigan if that would have anything to do with it.)

Good to have some Illinois-folks on board, 3DTeafoe!
Falcon probably needed to rest; maybe he crossed a part
of the huge lake, dont you think?
Where I live we have bears some 15 km from us,
wolves at times some 25 km away, wild cats (Lynx Lynx)
close to the garden & "järv" (Engl.?) = Gulo Gulo
some 110 km away. The Beaver (yes, brighthead, the animal)
lives all around us; we have one in our summer
cabin´s forest lake just beside.
