What's a bum note?

I'm not a guitar player so I was wondering what this technically is.

Is it a comment tattoed on someones ass?

Or a guitarstring that was touched in a particular way when it should not have been?

It's a note, that is not in the particular scale that fits to the song.
Guess other people can give you a more in-depth definition smiling smiley

Don't confuse with a blue note - a flat 3rd or flat 7th - which gives a sad or melancholy feel to the song when played over a major chord.

A bum note is out of key and/or just sounds bad.
