Given the time frame Andrew I don't like our chances. I hope they do for obvious reasons but the poor Kiwi's have had only one tour since 1973. Our Kiwi cousins have been a big Stones country from day dot. I think they at least deserve one more visit.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.
yeah looks like the tour downunder might not happen ,how late can you leave an announcement.still waiting in hope?? monkeyman they have been here in 65,66,73,95 if they had a decent indoor stadium in Auckland the 2003 tour would have happened. Esky ???
You know Kyle, I've been really thinking about those twenty bucks and I have came to a conclusion that it most definitively was worth it.
By the way, are you really looking forward seeing the Stones in Oz? Or can you continue your life without it? I have really mixed emotions about the European leg of the tour. I don't feel any real itchiness. It feels more like obligatary job for a Stones fan to see them one more time...
To be honest I thought the only reason there was ever a whisper of them coming to Keith's rather eloquent description of "the arsehole of the Earth" (NZ) was that there was an offer of 11 million odd to play a concert your way?
I think Oz was only included (possibly) because then was all that Australian money to be had.
Anyways, I hope they make it your (our) way.
Esky I just stocked up the booze wardrobe. Bringing a litre bottle of CC and Smirnov along with a beer or thirty. Make sure at least some of this is swimming happily thru my veins before you clobber me please...
Limbo you slut! Well get your northern European arse down here! Esky hits like a Madonna fan so don't worry about his brutish appearance putting you off.
boys...boys....boys.... hahaha...how long ago did this shit start? :0)

I think they are running out of time. One week in China April 8 and on? Then rumours about Honolulu late April? May be 2-3 shows in NZ, Sydney and Melbourne in total - really hard to see the logistics here. May is off tour until Barcelona.
Hey Doxa mate. I admit that they charge like wounded bulls and I don't think anyone is worth the money they command, but if they came to Oz I'd still hop a plane and like a fool go see them.
My wife would probably kill me but hey. We're travelling to the other side of the country to see U2 in March so April for the Stones might be pushing it. Not that she'd win. I'd just come home to an empty house.
But what memories I'd have.....
:0)
ps - seems I've racked up alot of 20 dollar debts on this board. lol.

That's right monkey man. But if they have not time enough for a notable number of concerts (in Australia & NZ)-and for a necessary break- before the european leg?....
I give the promoter until the 17th of Februaury to announce an Australian tour.Remember the Licks shows didn't go on sale until two months before the show date. There is still enough time to sell out Flemington and Rod Laver etc depending on where they play.
I was planning to go to Australia this tour but since nothing was finalized I booked next Decemeber. Landing in Sydney then hitting Adelaide (Barossa), Noosa and Port Douglas. Not enough time to hit Perth but does anyone think I would be missing a lot if I do not make it to Melbourne?
I don't know if it means much, but the photo of Mick and Keith is back on the Dainty website. Aussie stadium is not booked between 20 - 24 Apr. That would allow 2 days for stage setup, 2 nights for shows (Sat and Sun)and a full day to pull down the stage before a football game on the 25th. I know they are listed for Honolulu then. Aussie stadium is also clear from 26 Apr to 06 May. Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part.
don't read too much into the photo of mick and keith - dainty's people would have to be the most anal bunch of fuckwits i've ever come across - i've made a few inquires over a fairly long period of time and they are so ungratious - the halfwitted bimbo's you get put through to seem to fear some sort of vile execution if they were to impart even a small piece of optimism (or to the contrary for that matter) your way. this is what they say in that most hideous of aussie female accents - "i'm sorry but we just don't want to be responsible for people making travel plans on account of something which may not happen, that they may see us being responsible for if it doesn't happen, so no we're not prepared to say anything to you, even if we do know" - gee how intelligent and impressive of you! - but in fairness to dainty's staff he did lose some to Rhodes scholarships and others elected to study neurosurgery so that may explain this current very obvious brain drain they're experiencing.

well, the idea of them playing back to back nights anywhere certainly is
THAT isnt going to happen
mid April is more likely than late April, I would think. And May is out.

Never again after Mick lost his voice in Benidorm and then again for Amsterdam and Twickenham Europe summer 2003. They moved Twickenham and since then it's a rule. No back to back shows. Before that it happened on rare occations in recent years but not often at all. Not anymore now.
