A Bigger Bang

Have played and played this album and it is without doubt close to being their best work.

Track preference would go(incl. the special edition)

Let me down slow
Oh no not
This place is empty
Biggest Mistake
Rain fall
Rough Justice
Under the Radar
Sweet Neocon
Driving
don't wanna go home
It won't
Laugh
Streets
Back of
She saw me
Look What The Cat
Infamy
Dangerous Beauty

The last 2 really don't interest me, except the political lyrics to DB and both of Keith's songs make me wonder if things are not so good at home with his wife, he seems sad. Lastly I had a dream that Oh no was a thinly veiled attack on the return of the Bush family to the Whitehouse!

most of these songs seem to be missing words. perhaps you have a defective copy.

he must have the NFL version - it's called "She Saw me" - "coming," being a word that requires censorship.

Interesting remark. What do the rest of you think of this?

I think this sad, balladeer-type thing Keith has been going through is just part of his personality. He writes some wonderfully sweet slow tunes along with the rockers. This Place Is Empty seems to be about missing his wife (or his daughters who moved away, as at least one source interpreted it), maybe while he is away at sessions or on the road. Doesn't seem like things are bad there.

Now, Losing My Touch a few years back... hmmm

I was struck particularly by the defensive aggression of you've got infamy in combination with this place is empty. Incidentally ithought the bear your breasts line to be rather original, and personal rather than tasteless. This is in response to exile, also thought LMT was about Keith as a musician?

I think "Infamy" is also about Mick getting over in the songwriting process...

"got to be worked on
don't have no bark nor bite..."

I agree its very good my Top tracks are

Laugh I nearly Died
Let Me Down Slow
Oh No Not You again
Place Is Empty
Rough Justice

Think these would consistently be in my Top 5 in some variation

She saw Me Coming & We Don't wanna go Home are weakest least interesting to me

I don't hate them by any means but they would be my lowest MEZ
