What did Keith do?
Posted by: Koen ()

After they finished the three songs at the Superbowl, Keith was pacing around, throwing his hands in the air, as if he was looking for something. Then he went to the front of the drumkit and picked up something green. It looked like he was upset or angry about something.

Anyone knows what that was all about?

Hehe, I was wondering about the same thing. He takes off his guitar, and then he waves his armes in the air like "where is it"?

I was wondering that, too. It seemed like they had a few more seconds left. Perhaps he wanted to continue playing, but then Keith decided to gather everyone out front for the bow.
That was my take on that situation.
Imagination.

"Pass it on" (Keith talking about the music)

I was trying to figure out too. It looked like some type of clothing he picked up.

I think it was either the story Imagination told or it was his weed... he seems to have some on the stage regularly these days. Probably to stop the arthritis.

I think he grabbed that shawl/poncho thing he wears and it got moved.

Is this true? Has he really been toking up on stage a lot on this tour?

Maybe it was a killerbee he tried to shake out of his sleeve.

He didn't look upset to me. In fact he and mick seemed to share a "nice job, mate" moment as they left the stage -- keith was still facing the crowd and mick tapped him on the arm. You don't see that too often anymore.

It was some kind of cloth, clothing? Or, maybe some women's panties that got thrown up on stage at some point? (really! lol that's what I thought)

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

I noticed that as well, but not sure what it was all about.

What seemed clear to me was that Mick appeared upset. I think they pulled off a great show, but he was undoubtedly ticked about the technical glitches and his uncharacteristic shortness of breath during Satisfaction (which seemed to restrict his vocal range). All things considered, the band did extraordinarily well, but the expression on his face demonstrated to me that he was hoping for far more.

He did not looka bit upset to me. He looked more "in the moment" than I have ever seen him at at one of these out-of-his-habitat events. I thought he was looking for his jacket, scarf or something. Like no big deal. Then they did the bow.
Have you noticed that EVERY band in the wolrd who plays any kind of jam on TV even, now has to do the bow" I was watching Cyndi Lauper's evening with friends on Cable and she had an 80's band the Hooters guesting to play their little hitsong from yore. Then THEY did the bow! LOL
BTW in that very show of Cybdi's she was very good. Scott Weiland, not one of my favorite singers, tore it up. Singing and dancing. His song "Barbarella".

I thought Mick looked like he really enjoyed the event, and, I didn't notice any breathing problems. All things considered, it's one of the coolest, (albeit only 11 minutes, and, not just because it was The Stones) performances/productions I've ever seen. Even my 70yr old father who is NOT a Stones fan thought 'the show' was great. He said it was the best Super Bowl half-time show he's ever seen.

This was a live performance and you can't jump around like Mick does and 'sing' like Pavorotti. He was putting out up there and it was raw and real rock n' roll. Listen to boots from 1972-1981, it's all shouting at the expense of the vocal. He's learned to strike a balance between the two now. I think people are so used to the glossy, crappy overproduced, tape backed junk that passes as performance that when a living breathing real rock band plays, people wonder why they have rough edges. It's called live music, and they are the best at it! I can't believe anyone could find all these faults with that set!
