On the end of the Licks tour, many people on IORR complained about songs like Happy or Tumbling Dice.
They said "Oh no, the same shit for years".
But now those songs are welcome surprises in a mainly boring setlist on the most embarrasing tour ever.
The Licks tour was a greatest hits show with one new song and many rarities.
And ABB is a greatest hits show with TWO (Baltimore set) new songs and perhaps 2 rarities.
On Bridges To Babylon, Out Of Control and Saint Of Me were played every night and the crowd loved them, now the Stones are apparently afraid of doing new/ recent or different stuff.
It's even considered surprise when they play PIB or GOOMC on this tour.
What a shame they are such sad money-grabbing Las Vegas-granddaddies now, though they could easily create a fabulous 20 song list out of their 400 songs or so.
They have definitely the best album cuts ever and some very strong recent songs, but hardly play them.

Got tickets for Hanover though.
Can't wait to hear Miss You and Start Me Up in a row.

They are sick of the whiners on the board complaining about their deteriorating skills and now only play the songs that offer the least potential to screw up. You should be happy.

It's funny that only a few weeks ago people were raving about the MSG shows and the songs they were playing. Let's make this judgement based on the entire tour and not one ao a handful of shows.

I don't care what the Stones play. I will be seeing them in London and for sure the end of their stunning career will be looming. I will enjoy it whatever and when we have no more Stones I will hold it to my heart. Because I was there.

Let´s see....... how much changes in the set-lists in this tours??? Just in Bridges To Babylon we can talk about some changes from show to show.... some diversity....... and of course, the Licks Tour.... what still I can´t understand how the people can complain about this tour....... THE BEST TOUR (if we talk about set-list)..... in the history.... without doubts!!!

What´s we got in ABB??? Ok, a new VL Tour... a rigid set-list with some little changes.... (not close a BTB and of course, not close at all at Licks)... no surprises... this is what they always does!!! In every tour!!!

I concur. LICKS was one of their best tours ever. And in comparison of how Ronnie plays on the ABB tour, he was a virtouso on the Licks tour.

If you want to talk about songs that really "blow" live on this tour,I'll name Miss You,Tumbling Dice,Sympathy For The Devil,Respectable,& You Can't Always Get What You Want.What about Laugh,I Nearly Died?This is better than most of the weak pop & covers that they cranked out in the sixties.

Theres no need to complain this tour has been awasome no matter what they play people will complain because you can't please everyone. Personally I think they have done a great job of playing some old some new and some not so old stuff when you have 400 or more to chose from you will never please everyone. If you really think there going to very there set list by 10 different songs each show forget it no band does that not U2 or anyone else if they did that then everyone would complain that they sounded crappy because they wouldnt have enough times playing them to nail them perfectly. But hers my suggestion if your not happy don't go see them then theres plenty of other people that would love to have your tickets.

Bar band? LOL. That's a damn big and expensive bar. Let's face it, the Stones are as much a bar band as Celine Dion is a Metal Queen. The Stones are a Las Vegas act. Fact!

And what of the % that are never posted in the first place. I'm still waiting for my reviews of Portland and SF to show up....

I was in Portland - the show was good. "I went wild." I remember being disappointed that only three ABB songs were played though - ONNYA, RJ and Infamy., though But to think that Baltimore got only two!

Moreover, I should add that this was my first Stones show, and even I was slightly bored by Warhorse Row.(Especially SYMPAHTY - I've said it many times, and I will say it again. The "new-age" version they are playing these days is shameful. Bring back the guitars, if they're going to play it at all!) Other than that, the show was solid. It was great to hear Rambler, TD, She's So Cold, and the new ones.

The LICKS tour was WAY better. There was a sense of excitement and celebration about it, they challenged themselves, most importantly THEY ROCKED.
This tour feels like going through the motions, one last cash grab. I'll still be there though, but it makes me sad.

If the shows were as bad a some people on this board say.Then there is no way they would sell out this many shows at these prices. Some people will say that alot of the crowds are corporate suits checking out nostalgia. Even if that is the case word would get out that the shows suck and they would not keep selling out these show.

Your entitled to your opinions so keep Sqwawking and I will enjoy the shows.
