I just returned to VA from Baltimore so this may not make sense.
The Baltimore show simply blew my mind - having now been going to multiple Stones shows each tour since 78 - nothing comes close tonight.
The Rolling Stones were a band tonight - not just individual entertainers and they jammed like a band.
The set list was awesome - songs complemented one another and flowed perfectly.
Nothing about this show seemed forced and the band played as if they actually had something to prove and they proved it.
Midnight Rambler - First of all the band and especially Mick appeared lost in the song from the onslaught - in an amazing way. It took the audience places I am positive many have never been before. Tonight's version finally freed me from the constant reminder that I never saw them perform it live in its heyday - I am now at peace and confident that it could never have been much better than tonight.
Paint it Black - Took the audience to a place I have rarely seen a concert since the 70's - people were mezmorised - entranced - the song came alive and Mick seemed to shed his persona and force everyone to enjoy our dark side for a moment - it was Phenomenal
glad to hear that... finally a person who likes the show...finally no bashing.. im so thrilled to hear the stones in europe. first concert will be in nurnberg
----------------------------------------------------- Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
I as well, just returned home from the show in Baltimore and I must agree 100% they flat out kicked some ass tonight!! The guitars were on fire all night long. This was my 4th show this tour and 18th since '89 and let me tell all of you it was by far the best I've seen them!! They all really seemed to be having a lot of fun, the energy between them, as a band was awesome! To all those who passed on this show...too bad you missed out. Maybe you can get a boot.
Not sure this year, the networks (ABC, CBS, and Fox) rotate it as it is usually the highest rated TV show of the year. Let me know when your package arrives. Hope you enjoy it.
Yours is also on its way. I´ll check the channels out. What date is the Bowl btw, you never hear of it here? And I comprehend you´re counting the days to Atlanta. I found your town on my map.
Sunday about 6 PM Eastern time, probably early Monday morning for you. I found your town on a map too. Much larger than my town. Is there a seaport there? Fishing?
Fisher´s since long beaten by the cute seals. Only seven professional fishermen in my county left; rest is put off from water by industrial fishing ships. We have a seaport with a decent traffic. It´s an old shipping town. But I come from the Liverpool/Birmingham-like dump 50 km South; after seven-eight years in this small town I´m beginning to change though. But you cant take the rough city from the rough city boy entirely as we all know.
The Super Bowl is the yearly championship of American football. Kinda a national holiday - lots of parties, drinking, betting, etc.. Maybe similar to World Cup excitement in Europe, but happens yearly. This year - Pittsburg vs. Seattle.
