On the other hand, for me to go to Göteborg (a lil more than 750 km), my closest Stones-gig is like if you´re goin to Athens or Munich. Budapest is just a couple of Stones-throw´s away for ya, given you´re not livin by the coast. Still, hope you´ll got the show anyway!

Mr Trapisten LOL. I live in Belgium but I'm Dutch :-)
Bah Heineken. Just stick to the belgian beers please. I live in belgium just over the border of the beautiful dutch city of Maastricht (south of the netherlands)
Yeah; glad ya said it yourself: Dutch beer aint that much rock 'n' roll. Belgians are. Dreamin of Westmalle at nights... I believe you & I have chatted (? tempus?) bout that before, havent we? In the (one of the) beer thread... Soon time for a new such thread, huh?
> Note we speak about a country that has been in war > for most of the 90s.
Not really. War took place in '91/'92, and not in whole country... About one third of it...
And that has absoulutely nothing to do with organization problems. I guess local promoters are not ready to take risks. Stones are not really piece of cake to handle, and they'd much rader like to concentrate on birnging couple of well known artist to Croatia this year, than to spend all their money, time, and effort on greatest r'n'r band in the world.
We'll have to wait few days see if someone else will step in as local promoter.... But I'm not optimistic.
I have a lot of Serbian friends & ex-neighbors & I know how this area have suffered. That was my point. So much better if the Stones played there & if they do it again.
If there will be a show, it will be on the 7th July. Chances are 50:50 they say. There are other promoters interested, among them is company wich organised '98 gig.
Stones managemant is asking 2 milion dolars, and that kind of money is just not easy to find in south-eastern european countires in transition...
It also seems that Hungarian company backed out from organisation, and Austrian "Rock&more" concert company took their place... If the gig happen, it will be result of cooperation of at least 2 concert-organizing companies, if not more...
It is also reported that Belgrade promotor has not yet signed the contract and that they also haven't come up with the money yet...
