Date: January 28, 2006 01:59

At the Durham,N.C. concert after playing Miss You on the b-stage,Jagger tossed his guitar into the crowd.Has this been going on at any other shows? It is the only time that I've ever seen it happen.

May be it looks like that but then he has got his guitar technician David Rouze just in front of him, below, receiving the precicous guitar. He did that trick on a previous tour but I haven't seen it on this one.

By the way Mick never throws anything personal into the crowd. No picks. No shirts. No guitars. Just water bottles or stuff people throw on stage first. I think it is policy. If you see how people fight for half the next song on the floor trying to find a guitar pick Ronnie or Keith toosed out between songs then you will understand why. If Mick threw a guitar or a shirt there would be a big fight among half a dozen fans with their hands on the same item.

I'm surprised that you missed a show.He definitely threw the guitar into the crowd. It went over the railing to maybe about the third group of people back.I was standing about 15 feet away & people did wrestle for it for half of the next song.Maybe the technician was among them.

Ronnie threw half the total picks for the entire tour into the audience on the b-stage chicago 1-23... never saw so many picks thrown. Had to get replacements from Mick's mike stand and back on Charlie's plexiglass booth

Pick throwing is so lame, just the worst kind of rock star arrogance. Like flicking a fingernail to the grovelings. I'm glad mick doesn't do it.

That said, "tossing" your guitar to the roadie is even sillier.

can't say what happened in Durham since I was not there. But, I was about 15 feet from Mick, to the side of the B stage, at Boston on January 15th. At the conclusion of "Miss You" he faked tossing the guitar out to the audience and handed it down to a technician standing between him and the crowd at the front of B stage.

Not really true.

Remember Zürich, Letzigrund at the end of the licks tour.

before leaving the b-stage mick threw his white shirt in the audience in front of the b-stage.

but i admit i never seen it again since then.

True. I too remember that in Zurich. In Milan he did throw his shirt to the b-stage audience as well (I was right there)!

Sure that wasn't '75? I was drenched by a bucket of water (one of several) that Jagger threw out into the crowd in Buffalo

Someone above wrote about the water tossing in 1973. I recall Mick tossing rose petals and then the water in 1972. I enjoyed it back then, it put Mick in touch with the fans, I thought.

The guitar Mick uses for Miss You is a regular Fender Stratocaster, worth about $800. He's been using it ever since Goddess. As he played it after the Durham show, he did not toss it into the audience.

Don't believe everything you see. I have seen Mick throwing things many things and he is often aiming at the crowd and then it is landing in the hand of a crew member who is in front of Mick and between him and the crowd. Remember these days Mick's assistants are never more than 3-5 feet away from him. He's got one for the guitar and one for more technical stuff and one for personal security and then another 2-3 everywhere he moves at the show, less that a guitar's throw away. But you don't see them. Because they are not part of the show, so they are always low key.

One time in Argentina I saw him throw out a T-shirt into the crowd. Not his own but a shirt that came from the crowd. The crowd throw them on stage in hundreds in Buenos Aires River Plate Stadium every show. What happened then was 10-20 T-shirts more came flying immediately so he did not do that anymore. As half the crowd swing their t-shirts throughout the show you can't just do like that Mick learned.

They have got duplicate guitars of course like the one he got replaced in Chicago this week see picture below but they don't just toss them aoround like The Who did in the 60's...

At the end of the last gig of the Voodoo Lounge Tour in Rotterdam (great gig BTW), Ronnie threw Jagger's shirt to the crowd and trust me Mick didn't looked happy at all about this...

I don't know if you were there, i was.

The shirt was Mick's and he threw it in the audience and not to any crewmember.

This is a fact and cannot be denied, you maybe know much bv but not everything. so accept it.

Amazing.Like I said,I was there and watched him do it with my own two eyes.I guess it is impossible for him to use a different guitar on one version of Miss You.Am I sitting in a black chair right now or is it green?

I saw Mick trew his voodoo hat in the audience in 1995 in Landgraaf, after that he did use another hat on the tour!! That was the first time I saw him trew something in the croud and it seemed to be a mistake of him, never saw him trew somewthing in the audience after that.
