At the end of the shows, Charlie almost always tosses his drumsticks about 15 rows into the audience...

From my "non-drummer's" perspective, this seems rather risky. I mean those things aren't spongerubber. Has an audience member ever been injured by that ?

Good drumsticks are hardwood, but my guess is Charlie uses light jazz sticks which probably wouldn't hurt that much!

I don't think he mentions anything about the type of sticks he uses on that fanclub DVD, but he does give us a little tour of his drumkit.

Tomorrow night when my band gets together I'll have one of the other guys toss my sticks at my head from 15 feet away and I'll get back to you to tell you whether it hurts or not...
