Jagger-Scott engagement rumored by US tabs

Not that anyone really gives a sh-t, but crappy American tabloids and tv gossip shows have aired reports based on a rumor of Peter Pan and his Amazon girlfriend might be engaged. Its all based on some big-ass rock L'Wren is sporting on her finger.

I think its a crock because Jagger would never give up his search for the continual orgasm among South American models.

I take it you're NOT American, and that you despise Americans, the tabloids and even Mick by the tone of this post. Well, I think Mick would test the waters by giving the ring but I bet he holds off on the marriage thing. Just my guess! Mick hasn't had the greatest luck with marriage, although this L'wren seems to know exactly how to play him! She pretends very convincingly NOT to CARE if he sees other women, as if she's above worrying that he could be turned on by another! Guess she's not too familiar with Mick's history. I would bet she's very worried about his straying but so far, the little " performance" seems to be working. Wonder how she'll react when and if he does stray.

Boy, do some folks love to twist what I say! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Save me from the illiterate! No, I hate tabloids too! Where in my post did I defend tabloids? It would help if YOU READ MY WORDS! TABLOIDS are for the most part total trash! Brits have some taste for the Tabs too! Most of the British Isles actually live by what the tabloids say about the Royal Family! Anyway, back to my post! I was commenting or guessing what our Man Mick might do, if it happens to be true that he gave a ring to L'Wren. What a trite topic anyway!

======I take it you're NOT American, and that you despise Americans=====

Yo, Debbie sweetheart, wrong on both counts. I am as red, white, and blue American as they get and I LOVE my country. But you're right about the tabs...could care less for them. They're not fit to be used as toilet paper, in my op.

As for Peter Pan, I've always been pretty indifferent about....I realize his importance to the group, but will always blame him for the mid-eighties crisis and subsequent breakdown as a working band.

AND OF COURSE, this is supposed to be a trite subject.

Could anyone really take a Jagger marriage with more than a grain of salt!!??

Hey Gut, well you sure did not sound like a American Boy!! Notice the word " sound"; I thought I " heard" a note of animosity, must have misinterpreted! In any event, I think the temporary touring hiatus of the 80's had alot to do with Keith's childish response to Mick wanting to produce a solo project. By the way, Mick never wanted to break up the band. All of this is speculative because WE weren't there, but from all accounts that I've read, Keith was extremely nasty towards Mick, especially in the press. Of course Mick wasn't thrilled with Keith's behavior and that probably made the " split" last alot longer than it should have. I bet it could have been resolved had Keith acted like an adult; AGAIN, all speculation based on what I read. Eight years without a tour was horrible! Surely you're familiar with the fact that Keith can be unreasonable and difficult to reason with. Stones History. The airing of Dirty Laundry is NOT something Mick is accustomed to doing, Keith prolonged the battle by doing just that.

Well, I share a different interpretation of the 80's.

Jagger saw Michael Jackson become a solo superstar and wanted to emulalte that success, but with a very late start in his own early forties. Hard to do at that age. He became Peter Pan and told those old English farts he'd been asscoicated with for over 20 years to get bent. So he set out on making some awful solo albums and basically shut down the Stones machinery. He found out the hard way that the Stones were his ticket to long-term success, not his overriding ego.

What I am most pissed about is that it shut down the Stones as a "working band"; Up until 1983, they were still putting out new music every year or two, and touring behind it. It hasn't been the same musically or professionally since 1983 and that is why "Start Me Up" was their last classic song to be a hit. Sure they had a few others, but nothing was promoted as it should have been. That was the long slow road to becoming more of a Beach Boys-nostalgia continual touring outfit that we saw during the Live Licks years.

And believe me, I don't give Keith a pass on any tantrums either. He acted ridiculous.

I'm guessing that Jagger and L'Wren have an agreement that he can have other women as long as he is discrete and L'Wren remains the "official" girlfriend. Pure speculation on my part, but it would make sense. I bet there are plenty of women who'd jump at the chance to be with Jagger, even under those circumstances.

Hell, for all we know she is seeing other men, too. Although perhaps not, because Jagger has always been the jealous type. He wants his freedom but doesn't want his official girlfriend/wife to have hers.

Or she's bi. From what I've seen, the only chicks that can stand the thought of their man with another girl, is a girl who's been with other girls.

Hey Gazza, did you love your visit and the show in NYC?? You must know I am exaggerating about folks in the British Isles, at least a bit! Ive been to England twice and was basing my opinion on my intereaction with lots of Brits that I met in the Pubs, on buses, in trains, and in restaurants! I couldnt believe the conversations I heard about the Royal Family! I was amazed, plus, every newspaper had a picture of Charles, Diana, the Queen or ALL of them! This was in 1986 and 1993. They seemed very caught up in the lives of the Royals! So Adrian, not alot of what I said can be called " stereotyping". And what if it's true? So What? It's not the worst thing I could have said about Brits, and don't forget, I love England and would love to live there for a long period of time. I love the USA but if I had the chance for an extended stay in another country it would be England. OK, Gut, I know exactly what you're thinking! SO GO! Perhaps some day, can't aford taxes there!
