while we may not always agree with openg, he wasn't offensive to anyone. I don't remember him cussing or putting others down. It just doesn't seem fair. I'll miss the old g.

If you post messages like this over and over again for days weeks and months then it is called offending:

Yeah but that's a review of his playing. Reviews can be hard.

Yes, And he's not the only one being fed up with Ronnies palying. They charge alot for tickets and if jopurnalists are afriad to speka their minds because of their drames of meeting the boys, maybe BVs dream too?`, then why not here?

I wouldn't go as far as to say its offensive. But boring as hell, YES.

May be Offensive to BV in that he is the one has to officiate and regulate repetitive threads, continually.....but I'd rather those threads be closed, instead of kicking any one off.

I see the less people know me the more they think they know me and that is kind of interesting.

There are as per now exactly 292 reviews from the shows played at the A Bigger Bang Tour so far published on IORR. I publish every review as it show up whenever I have time and may be I have a backlog of 30-40 but these reviews are a complete selection of people's random opinion from August 10 2005 to January 25 2006. There is no consensus or even thend in these reviews that a single band member should be replaced and shipped home to be replaced by an better musician. So repeating such a message numerous times is simply verbal terror here and not interesting at all.

Nobody here is stupid or deaf or blind or slow. Individuals do not have to post the same message 200 times per day. And Mick Taylor will not join the Stones in February because of such terror.

This issue is now finally debated from my side as per now, and I will move on to more creative work.

BV - with all due respect - I have twice sent you reviews of shows that have not been posted. I'd like to think it is just an honest oversight/omission on your part.

He obviously doesn't want to hear from certain people. I have quality photos from the Chicago shows, but since he NEVER RESPONDED to my e-mails, we got a blurry picture from Wednesday's show.

I think it's a disgrace!

What has this board come to....?

I assume BV is just getting more nasty by the day as more and more negative Stones stuff comes rolling onto HIS site....

Exactly. And Dylan made that opinion quite clear to someone called Mark Knopfler. Dylan preferred Taylor to Knopfler, and I don't blame him. But that pissed Knopfler off (which doesn't bother me - even though I admit that Mark has made bigger contributions to Dylan records than Mick - even though nothing so great as "Blind Willie McTell")

Maybe the man could return after some month in Exile.
I mean, even Ablett misses him; like tooth-ache I´d say.
Its like when you were a kid, with your little sister (Bab Sis);
after you made her disappear, you´re gonna miss the
lil b*stard.

Why not use the classical couple-relation-advices:

"Before you say anything, first consider this:"

1. Must it be said, on the whole?
2. Must it be said - by me?
3. Must it be said - now?

Says who?

And yet you preceded it with "I see the less people know me the more they think they know me and that is kind of interesting."

Do we kick people off for contradictions as well as being annoying?

I don't really understand what Open G did and even though the guy bored me to the point of losing the will to live, he was harmless enough.
All this "you know the rules or else...blah...blah.." is so light weight it's embarassing.

So he bags Ronnie, so f'n what?

If that's "simply verbal terror", man some people have gotta thin skin.

Verbal terror is an Afro American being called a 'nigger' while the KKK threaten to burn down his or her house, not....."Ron Wood can't play a decent single note solo that sounds correct".

That's called an opinion.

No, thats physical violence or at least threatening to practise such.

Freedom of speech is a cursed slogan; we have an actor in my country
that is haunted by the press. They defend themselves with that slogan.
What if you were Ron Wood and read that crap all day long?

Wotcher baboon. I miss OpenG like toothache????

Well when I first arrived here he was very defensive if you took the piss. But lately he's been very funny and although I hardly ever agreed with him it was fun to see how many angles he could put on MT. He certainly wasn't abusive like one other prominent MT fan here.

I never thought I'd say this but this site will be poorer without his input and BV's decision certainly surprises me.

There's been alot worse on here than 'Ron Wood Can play Rhythm,Pedal Steel And Slide But Not Single Note Solos'!!

Anyway Bjornulf runs the board.

Sure but ronnie doesnt read it and he doesnt have to casuse its not his site, if BV is trying to promote himself with this site I understand him, hge doesnt want bad reviews and criticism against Ronnie.

>"No, thats physical violence or at least threatening to practise such."

That's my point Bro, it's talk - not action. Threatening physical violence is not physical violence. Hence my example is an example of 'verbal terror'.

In any event, how the hell is ragging on Ronnie (which I am also tired of seeing but anyways....) verbal bloody terror?

I think BV has gone a little silly with this banning bullshit. It's not gonna wreck anyone's day if they're banned from here - something for which I'm probably heading towards now because of these words....

It's just a bloody website and unfortunately we're all entitled to be boring and repetative.
Don't see Open G's big offense here.

Anyway, perhaps BV can take his fight to the Chicago press. :0)

People are far too touchy when anyone critizes the stones as a band or individual memebers of the band. Whats the point if we all agree?

a day off from the board and look what kind of news!
well, unkind news to say the least
though i see how openg can be really teasing and unnerving in his repeated posts i can't see the harm. especially in posts as that quoted.

i understand to a certain extent when bv hopes and works for a board that would be mainly a "good vibe" one. those who ask for freedom of speech and critique - and sure they're/we're right - should also reflect what is the point to be in a "stones fan board" if you never find a way to express the joy of it. if your most joyful expression of love for the band comes out when someone else is bored to hell by the Nth thread on how bad ronnie is and you start your "apology" with "I love the stones and i am a fanatic, but..."

I have to be honest, a question like "why you here" comes to my mind (but, alas, passive-aggressivity has always pissed me off)

Nonetheless, following bv manifesto i have to say that i've read much worse posts especially on the issue of personal offense, than openg monochords

if i were the administrator i would not have banned him and wish on a second thought by bv

Being rather new, I have not all the specifics at hand. I guess how hard it is to manage and run such a great and unique site I discovered few monthes ago. The best one I've seen on The Stones. Colloquial and professional. By-Laws are needed. That is obvious. If offenses were made, personnal excuses should be made
to the Administrator. And allow maybe as maumau just posted " bv to have a second thought ".

Only Göteborg.
And only that emptied the wallet entirely.
And that´s even before we´re tawkin warm-up beer.

& You, Ablett?

LA: Ron might or might not read this.
But he sure got friends & family.
You cant offend someone just because he/she 'maybe' not read it.

Rules and by-laws are necessary, but so is freedom of expression on our favorite band.
It's a thin line...
