OK, who is right? Capacity figures; facts, no more lies.

I'm sure BV will drop everything the moment he reads this but I have to be honest: many figures are obviously wrong.

Giant Stadium: capacity 60 000. BV says 70 000.

Rogers Centre, Canada: 45 000. BV: 60 000.

Scott Stadium, attendance 50-55000. BV: 61 000

TD Banknorth Garden, est. 13 700. BV: 19 000

Wembley Stadium: 70 000 sold. BV: 90 000.

Hm BV, why are the numbers wrong? I'm not usually interested in numbers but I checked these and I dunno...Is it really important that they draw fans like in the old days. They can't compete with Robbie Williams anyway in Europe.

Sorry but you are all wrong.

1. My numbers are CAPACITY of venue and not real crowd numbers. I listed all these numbers long time before the stage was known and the shows were performed.

2. When the IORR magazine no. 54 went to print two weeks ago I had some of the real crowd numbers numbers. Anybody who are seriously interested in these have got them in the magazine. The numbers were released by Micael Cohl just 3 weeks ago. I don't work full time with updating all parts of IORR and also the numbers are still capacity not real numbers, as listed on that page, if you bother to read that page.

3. I will updated the capacity numbers with exact reported numbers by the RS office (as of late december) if and when I get time. Just an example of HOW WRONG YOU ARE:

The Rolling Stones
Scott Stadium
Charlottesville, Va.
Oct. 6, 2005
$5,707,785
57,908

Well my estimate was 61,000 half a year ago and I missed with 3,000 people vs. the real number reported by the RS office. No bad really.

wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000 without the field. And it is STILL NOT FINISHED. so I would not worry much about that. My number is telling the stadium capacity and it is telling you it is a BIG stadium.

The Boston arena show was performed last week and the numbers have not been reported yet. But on previous tours they had this exact numbetr at these shows in the venue: 17,500. So your numbers are all wrong.

I have all the correct numbers. But as long as I have to clean up posts made by "LA FORUM" i.e. YOU trying to restart the stupid implkant thread being closed, and other people who offend and abuse the IORR web, then my time is spent on cleanup of IORR Tell Me rather than updating things like this, which are more interesting. Got it?

Give Bjornulf a break -- are we demanding that he obtain official capacity numbers months before the event takes place, map the stage, ramp and b-Stage onto the field, determine which seats won't have sight lines, and then publish his best estimate of what the capacity WILL be? or else he is a liar? That's unreasonable. He does a great job for every fan out there.

I know for a fact Giants Stadium has 72000 seats for football games...if you take away all the seats behind the stage and add all the seats on the field, I would say it's close to 70,000 seats at the end of the day.

BV, thanks for all your hard work with the site and the magazine. I look forward to seeing all the Cohl figures, most of which I saw in Billboard, but would love to see them preserved here on your site, whenever you have the time.

I'd like to meet up with you at the show in Rio. Have you determined a meeting place before the show for fans or have you heard any more about how the area on the beach will be set up for fans?

Thanks again BV.

1. Guys, selling out Giants Stadium does mean ALWAYS about 56,000- 59,000 tickets when we are takling about musical acts (Stones, Springsteen). That's the number i remember from previous tours too. You know, there is often a clear difference between the capacity of a venue and the number of the crowd. U2 sold out Barcelona's stadium with 81,000 tickets. Stadium's capacity (i know it as a "Barca"'s fan!) is 98,000 seats.

2. LA FORUM you are being unfair to BV. He does great job. Just look at the Licks Tour’s approximately numbers estimated by BV. Adding them you have a total 1.7 million. After the tour the official number had been published: 1,625,496 tickets! It was an incredibly good computation!!!

Thanks a lot georgelicks.

Add the numbers of these 28 shows. We have a total 998,890 tickets. Add the IORR capacity numbers of these 28 concerts. We have 992,000 !!!!. That happens because the real capacity of some stadiums (and of Moncton) was a bit bigger than what BV had estimeted. But seems a bit like a miracle how close the two numbers are...

LA FORUM, why are you so suspicious? Is this the new policy of the "All Time Nagging Party" on the board? In your position i would give my apologies to BV. You have said something about "lies". In my humple opinion that's very offensive, my good friend.

Yeah, give the man a break. Even if the numbers were wrong, which they apparently aren't, that would have been a mistake, not a lie. Big difference. It's rude to call someone a liar anytime, but especailly over something so insignificant.

phd's remark: "Billboard 2005 : 1,200,000 . IORR 2005 : 1,215,000. great adequation"

Of course. Also if i'm right (if not correct me) Billboard wrote "1.2 million" rounding off the number. In other words it could be 1,180,000 or 2,220,000.

BV once again thanks for this job!

The BV's error margin was less than 0.7%, impressive job.
