SWAYED AGAIN AT MSG

I was at the Soundcheck at MSG in September and they played the following:

Tumbling Dice
Get Up Stand Up
19th Nervous Breakdown
Sway (1 1/2 Times)
Rain Fall Down

Sway fell apart the first time and then they did it again straight thru. I thought they would play it that night but they didn't.

I was at the Soundcheck yesterday (MSG 1/18) and they played the following:

Rocks Off
Mr. Pitiful
Sway
Sway
Love Is Strong
Love Is Strong
Worried About You

The first run thru of SWAY Chuck told the band "if they have any doubts come talk to him."...Ronnie Wood was completely lost on the lead.
The Second time, a light bulb went on in his head and he completely nailed it...it was awesome...I wish I had a recording of it...So I was sure they were going to finally play it last night...but I was swayed again!!!!!!!

Anyway, they played 3 of the 5 rehearsed....LOVE IS STRONG was so great during soundcheck...great groove...you forget what a great song it is.

Worried About You was awesome and it was great last night too.

By the way...I walked up to the ticket window at MSG at around 6:15...no line...and I scored a $179 ticket in section 101...unbelievable!!!!

Micwer,

You sneak in like a thief in the night!

There's not much security during the day...most of the security goes on the clock after 6:00pm

Those that sh*t on Chuck should have their heads examined. He is the one pushing for setlist variety and helping everyone through them.

Chuck, if you read this. . . .keep pushing - keep surprising us.

It's only rock n roll. . . .

Steven,

Who is sh*ting on Chuck? Just pointing out that he knows their material better the Stones themselves...it's a compliment to Chuck.

What I'd be more interested in about the soundchecked Sways whether Jagger improved on the version from Columbus - he pretty much ruined it there for me. Ronnie was adequate, Keith was mostly MIA, but MJ had all but forgotten the proper phrasing of the lyric....

T&A,

Mick had it down...that second take was great...they all nailed it.

You were at Columbus? They butchered it?

Has Mick ever forgotten lyrics? Or mixed up stuff? More than just a missed intro or something, ya know where it's like, oh oh-bomb. . . .he seems pretty 'on top of his game' these days for sure, gotta think in the early 70's when maybe 'they boys' indulged more with this & that maybe things weren't so sharp in concert - just curious.

Sway is one of my favs off Sticky - let's hope they bring it on and nail it.

did ya ever wake up to find - a day that broke up your mind?

Mick's phrasing in Columbus dragged out the "to" in "Did you ever wake up tooooooooooooooooo find"...

When to deliver this song with dread it has to be the other way around... a very fast to...

Otherwise with the longer to it sounds like a trip down memory lane...

I'm exaggerating of course because overall I liked the Columbus version. Much better, for example, thean their first attempt at Sister Morphine on the B2B tour.

"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."

Bayou - I agree with your assessment...seems like a relatively minor adjustment for MJ to make - but necessary to really deliver the song properly.

Mick changed the lyrics in SOME GIRLS on the 99 tour to "WHITE GIRLS WANT TO GET F-ED ALL NIGHT". He couldn't be worried about Jesse J. could he?
