What are my chances?
Date: January 18, 2006 18:20

If I was to walk up to the door of The United Center on January 25th and ask for a ticket, what is the probability I will get one, based on anyone's past experiences? I'm thinking of doing this, and I'm wondering if it will be worth it; i.e. good seat, reasonable(for the Stones) price, all the usual factors. Thanks in advance for any advice.

scalpers will give them away right before the start(if you have the patience)

100% guaranteed you'll find plenty of scalpers... they are always there. You might also check out the Shidoobee pre-party at Billy Goat on Madison... there's very likely going to be people there with extra tickets.

Hand the doorman a $20 and say, "Does this ticket work at this gate"? Odds are you'll get in. I've used it for years at sports events.

This is the advantage of high prices (for sure in Europe): if you decide to go to the Stones just half an hour before the show, you'll get tickets.

Scalpers may be high prices, but what about from the ticket window? I've heard rumors about the window having a fire sale right before the show just to get rid of any remaining tickets. Does anyone know if these tickets are discounted?

Scalpers WON'T be high prices. If anything face or less. Especially from people just trying to offload a couple of their own extra tickets. It's obvious who is a pro scalper and who is just a bozo trying to sell an extra ticket or two. The bozos will gladly sell at a loss just to get something for it. And they don't want to stand out in the cold all nite long, just take the first reasonable price and be done with it.

How you doing, Mr Brems?

>_>

From what I've heard, your best bet is probably Ticketmaster--days before or day of. Keep checking, then just put 'em on will call.

Maybe I'll see you at the show.
